Better launch game: Ryse or Dead Rising 3?

I'm torn between these two titles. On the one hand, Ryse looks like a graphical feast, but I worry about length and quality of the story. On the other hand, Dead Rising 3 looks like a last gen game, but it's open world and has co-op. Also, the way they've integrated Smartglass into the whole cellphone thing sounds cool. (If you haven't heard, your real cellphone becomes the character's cellphone in game and characters call you in the real world and give you unique missions. Neato!)

Anyway, what do you guys think? Ryse, Dead Rising 3 or just wait for reviews?

Wait for reviews is always a good bet but DR3 looks really fun in my opinion. I disagree that it looks last gen. The sheer number of zombies on screen is rediculous.

Ryse for me. Both games look great. Lets see which one has better gameplay.

Yeah, I can see the community is a bit split too. And Ankor, I wasn't saying DR3 looks bad per se, just that the textures didn't really impress. I agree the number and variety of zombies is impressive, but just not as impressive as the graphical fidelity in Ryse. Makes sense that textures would suffer, though, since it's open world. Also, it's hard to compete with Crytech.

I wouldn't have even considered DR3 if they hadn't offered the option to ditch the time limit and save restrictions. Those were the 2 things keeping me from enjoying the franchise before.

I'm going to go digital and just wait for reviews. Gameplay is the ultimate decider here I guess. (And honestly, I will almost certainly buy both eventually.)

Niether have been relieased so no one can say for sure. But I think Dead Rising 3 looks cooler. Ryse looks like call of duty in that is super cinematic and the story might be cool but also that it's way too linear and full of set pieces

Ryse for me... DR3 looks really fun also, But I love ancient Rome so I know I will enjoy it just for the setting! :)

Both games look nice and I'm getting both at launch but if I had to choose one I would go with Dead Rising 3 because its open world and it will last longer than Ryse and the sheer amount of zombies on screen is frightening.

Dead Rising 3. It's the only game that nearly convinced me to buy a launch One.

I'm personally getting Dead Rising 3 and AC4 for launch games. Pretty sad there's no awesome special edition for DR3. I'll probably pick up Ryse when the price drops or if it gets higher reviews than I'm expecting (I expect it to get 7s and 8s)

Well, I'm sure we will have reviews of the launch games at least a week before launch. Plus, I found out anybody who is getting either game digitally gets the preorder bonuses so long as they buy the game within the first two weeks of launch - so that's nice.

That's easy.

DR3 is the better game, as it the only game that I will get when I get my Xbox One. Just like the first DR was my first game when I bought my Xbox360.

Dead Rising 3 is the Xbox One title I'm most excited for, and it's the sole game I will be picking up for Xbox One at launch. Based on the past games in the series, I think it's safe to assume that Dead Rising 3 will be a quality game.

Ryse, while I really want it to be good because the story, graphics and cinematic elements look great, I'm worried about the gameplay.

Despite me rooting for it, I can't help but think "meh" when watching gameplay videos. I'm hoping for some updated gameplay videos of the campaign (couldn't care less about multiplayer) to be released or, better yet, a demo at launch to convince me otherwise. Without that I will have to wait to buy Ryse until its price more closely matches my interest level.

I would get Forza 5 to be honest, because neither game looks good to me

That game looks great, but I don't care for racing. I wish I did... it's easily the best launch title if you are a fan of the genre.

Ryse because it looks beautiful & I love the setting

Ryse sucks so bad dude. I played it at a games event here in the UAE, its really a QTE game, and everything else just plays like crap. Dead Rising for me.

I'm probably going to get Ryse at launch and hope for the best. I thought I read somewhere that the developers said it would be 20+ hours for the campaign which would be cool if true. I'll also probably pick up forza 5 and put some of the others on the Christmas list for the family (DR3, AC, BF4, etc).

it is gonna be difficult, I wasn't a fan of DR2 but DR3 looks to be shaping up quite nicely. Ryse from the get go has had me intrigued, and in all likelyhood will end up purchasing. But i would say if you are still unsure either wait for reviews or just wait for someone you know who has either/both of them :P

There's no way I'm passing up either.....I think each will satisfy a different itch....DR3 keeps looking better and better, looks like it's going to be GTA5 with Zombies and a lot of other neat stuff like you mentioned.......and Ryse, a medieval-themed game with heavy emphasis on action....can't wait to try it.
