Morrowind is a fantastic game, arguably better than Oblivion in some areas. Definately play it if you like RPG's. Their stories are not related so it doesn't matter which one you play first.

Morrowind (Which Im playing now) is more hardcore than Oblivion. You gotta read MASSIVE amounts of text, quests have no direction indicator, nor is there any help in finding locations. While the UI is similar, as is the classes (tho theif isnt which pisses me off, no marksmanship major... I mean dude), the game play is a little different. Its worth playing the game of the year version which has all the expantion packs. Here is some hints. In the first town buy as much armor as you can except for boots. Then once you have a weapon find the cave near town (passed the strider which I so wish was in Oblivion) and go inside. Kill the first dude, and youll find boots. Move passed the first door and goto the left... I wont say what to do there but sneak. Make sure you collect plants as much as you can as they're worth it for the cash at the start. Write down directions you're given as its a chore using the quest log and with no direction system you need to know. When you find an enchanter in the main city, dont talk to him, save first as there maybe a bug that happens. Oh, and dont use striders unless you have to early on... youll need as much cash as possible.

Morrowind and Oblivion are completely two different games if u really think about it. All the Elder Scrolls are the same kinda but all have a different story so it doest really matter which one  u play first u still get the same experience with both of them because of the different story and no connection between them unless u read books in the game which talk about it u might get a book that mentions Oblivion and in Oblivion u might get a book tht mentinos morrowind LOL but in the end the both game OwN
