EA released a statement a few days ago saying that the servers were going down for maitenance and that a new traffic routing system that sends players only to local servers would resolved "most or all" of the lag issues. I tried mine out today, but there has been no change that I can see. I'm still rubber banding, seeing screen blackouts, and lagging through doors and windows. Has this fix worked for anyone, or is it just a load of crap?

They keep releasing stuff on the forums saying "EA will be working on the servers until early next week." and stuff like that. I will say that I played a couple matches earlier today, and it was WAY better than it has been lately. Hopefully they remedy it in the next few days, as many people are feeling robbed of their 60 dollars.......

The major server maintenance stuff was supposed to happen this past Thursday... I haven't noticed any change since then at all. I was just wondering if the fix was working anywhere else, and it appears that it is not. Thanks for the info, I think I might be selling my BC2 to put towards one of the new Xbox models or another game. Can't be bothered to wait for them to fix it any longer, this is absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah, this is just ridiculous how long it's taking to fix the lag problem.I'm going to sell my copy,it's too annoying to play anymore.

For the most part it has been the same, if not worse at times, but yesterday I got in some matches where the lag was fairly minimal

I have not noticed any change in the last few days. Every now and again I get a match that is playable, but most of the time it takes me 3 tries to walk through a door.

Same here. And to whoever said that the lag is "minimal," when I spend $60 on a game I expect it to operate AT LEAST 95% lag free, especially on dedicated servers. It is absolutely unacceptable that we should have to just deal with any amount of consistent lag.

agreed - i must admit BC2 is one of my favoite online shooters to date but considering the investment i made of 60$ it should be free of most if not all lag and yes if it contineues to be this hard to walk up stairs or go through a door we should at least get points for it XD

I dont think that EA can be blamed for this but xbox live as a whole. I dont personally own BFBC2 so i dont know how bad it is on that specific game altohugh on RDR i used to instantly respawn once i died but now thaere is like a 20-30 second load time after death sometimes when i play in the evening. On mw2 the servers have been timing out a lot more than usual aswell. I think it is pretty unfair to throw all this hate onto one game for a problem that seems to be happening on numerous games of recent.

They are specifically EA's servers, so yes EA/Dice are to blame for the lag.

MW2 uses P2P, so you blame whoever is host or the host finding system the game uses

RDR does not use EA/Dice servers so who is to blame for that? Its also on Left 4 Dead 2 occasionally I think that it is unnecessary to hate on a game just because of an overall online issue, look at MOH beta there has not been any lag on that for the users of games for windoes live (dont know about psn) and they are using EA servers but you can bet as soon as it comes on 360 there will be someone complaining lag on it and saying stupid things such as "BFBC2 all over again" or "EA fix this or i will not play this perfectly good game due to lag issues as i'll put all blame soley upon you!"

If LIVE is to blame, then why exactly is it that most Xbox LIVE games work fine, with no problems? I frequently play MW2, and I can count the number of laggy matches I have in two weeks on one hand. And even that is due to the host's poor internet or distance from me, not because of LIVE. I honestly can't believe you are defending EA and their servers. They are well known for being awful. Every game from Command and Conquer to Madden to Tiger Woods to Battlefield frequently suffers from serious lag issues. BFBC2 just happens to be the worst of them. If you really think MS has anything to do with EA's servers or the functionality of their games, you need to do some reading about the technical aspects of online gaming.

Your issues on RDR should be blamed on Rockstar's online handling, not MS. Commonality does not prove causality, my friend. There may be similar issues in other games caused by totally differentproblems with different companies' handling of their online support. And besides, if you don't own BC2 what are you doing on this thread? You just decided to come here to defend EA on an issue you know nothing about?

I still don't know what you guys are talking about. I've encountered virtually no lag since launch.

You must be one of the lucky few, because thousands of people have been basically unable to play the game for about the last month due to latency issues.

You should play where I am, it gets really bad sometimes. Maybe it's a region thing for the servers?

There was one day where every game I played in BFBC2 (no matter what game mode) was laggy - a few were so bad I could barely do anything. The next day it was fine. Thought this only limited to the PS3 servers, but my friends on XBL are complaining too.
