I made a thread about this in the BFBC2 forum, but no responses yet.....

I have been on the fence about buying this game for months. Its on sale today online at the EA online store for $24. I'm not the best at FPSs, but I've heard that this is a lot more fun than Black Ops (which I play a ton). Can you guys give me any info I need about this game's community? I know BF3 doesn't come out until November, but I don't want to buy this if its hard to find a game.I have a feeling that BF3 will be great, so I might try this one out to see if I like the series.

Let me know about the community, and if I should even bother buying this game, thanks!

i personally think black ops is way better. I only play those games for like 4 months until the repetetivness gets me sick. BFBC is more of a realistic shooter than black ops. Black ops is more steady and you can pull off some cool jumps shots with the rifles and actually do it. In battlefield, i just found the huge maps and realism to actually take away from the fun. (this is my opinion) as i dont like either of them now becasue im sick of the maps. MW2 was my game. I would say go with Black ops first and then maybe buy a used copy of BFBC if you dont like black ops, with the trade in Val of BFBC. I think you will like black ops better in the long run but you gotta try both like i did.

If you haven't played BFC2 then hell for $24, get it. It's one of my favorite games EVER on my 360. Even my girlfriend is addicted to it. Good luck and hope to see you out there. BTW the community is still strong.

The community is still strong, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

The campaign is really fun. The characters are funny and with a combination of mission tactics and different locations, it's hard to put down.

The online is where BFBC really excels though. The class system is great. You'll be able to find/create a class that suits you with differing abilities and roles to play. The maps are awesome, and I honestly love everything about the game. Vietnam was an AMAZING addition to the series, and one of the best DLCs ever released for any game, in my opinion.

BFBC is my favorite shooter of last year, and is one that you should definitely own. ESPECIALLY, for $24.

Basically. BFBC2 is amazing. I refuse to compare it to Black Ops or COD in general, because they're very different. I play both series. Battlefield has more going on, and is more satisfying when you do something to benefit your team.... which is exactly it. Teamwork is CRUCIAL in BFBC2. It's class based, rather than custom loadouts. (Though you can change weapons and specializations and such)

Awesome, thanks for the responses. One more question. When it says that maps are free with VIP code, does that mean that if I bought the Ultimate Edition I can get all those map packs for free?

I would buy it, its so worth the money.I have way more fun in BFBC2 than i ever had in Black Ops.The people don't seem to be as rude and not to mention you have destruction, tanks and jeeps, and its just a better experience in general.

This game is the best shooter out there right now. Black Ops doesn't even compere with it when your dealing with real time physics....For exampple in Black Ops you can cower behind a wall when a granade is thrown your way and it has ABSOLUTLY NO EFFECT on you or the enviorment. BFBC: 2 on the other hand if you try to hide behind the wall in Battleield well kiss your ass goodbye.... I can go on and on with great things about this game but try it out for yourself and you'll see how much more of a better shooter it is then any other shooter out right now INCLUDING BLACK OPS
