[QUOTE="AC730"]It didn't mention if it was another modern setting but it did mention no WWII settings. They still didn't leak out details. But I'm sure it still might be in the modern for now.zero9167so it's confirmed it won't be WWII?
im guessing so although i wouldnt mind a ww2 cod5 if it was in the pov of the germans
if it was ww2 in the point of view of the nazis it would be good because that is something new that no one has doneEnraged_BannanaThen it would be controversial because it would be anti-Semetic and anti-American. No one would want to bring that s---storm upon themselves.
Call of Duty 5 arcticle somewhere recently mentioned that it could possible be set in WWII but in the past they said that they are sick of that era. Thank god...
Although on the flip side I for one feel there should be loads more WWII games as I will love shooting one of those pelet guns and getting the chance to wear a tin helmet again...
The first world war would be so awesome. Include aerial missions and some of those archaic tanks that broke down every 2-3 miles. Mustard Gas, Gattlin Guns, Trench warefare...
if it was ww2 in the point of view of the nazis it would be good because that is something new that no one has doneEnraged_BannanaAnd yet, it's still the same settings, the same guns, and basically the same story. So they could make a Nazi WWII game, or you can import CoD4 from Germany, seeing as how the biggest difference would be the language the Nazi's speak. Maybe they'll do a futuristic setting. Ooooorrrrrr they can go back to the good ol' days of swords, bows, and catapults. ;) Haha imagine that.

Ah, but if it's from the German side, we'd get to do something we rarely ever get to do in WWII games (Except Battlefield 1942 and MOH: Allied Assault) and that's defend.....yes that's right, a game where you aren't a tanked up psychonutter with a sheer imperviousness to being a lone soldier behind enemy lines; it'd be a game where you'd have to shut down every route, lay traps and create fortifications, assign guns to different points and then fight the bit out against a literal swarm of enemies. I'd buy it.....and it'd freshen up the dead and festering horse being repeatedly whipped that is WWII games.
Only thing I can see bad about Vietnam was that it was more of a defeat than a victory. I think there's still allot of old people around with mixed feelings about it. But then again, it's no different than Iraq atm.
I think the Battlefield Series did a Vietnam game, I don't think it did that well. But I geuss it's better than another WW2 game. I mean how many more times do we have to save Private Ryan! LOL

German side Allied side...its WWII and its beat...to death.
a new setting could be WW2 Japan.
There's only one game I can think of that took place there (Rising Sun anyone?)
