I like RPG's but bioshock looks like the more original of the two, however Mass effect will probably last you longer considering the genre. hoped it helped.

Well if you want a game that will last a LONG time then Mass Effect is the way to go. Personally I played Bioshock and turned it back because I just couldn't get into it. Don't get me wrong Bioshock was a good game it just wasn't for me. Also from the ones who beat I heard it doesn't have much replay value.

Laslty it all depends if you, want a good shooter get Bioshock or if you want an action RPG get Mass Effect.

You have to go Mass for longevity, but Bio is such a fantastic game that I don't think you will be disappointed. Get Mass first, but make sure to eventually get Bio. It's a must have.

Bioshock's a good rental. Keeps you interested for a good 10-20 hours, but there isn't really much to give it a second go considering how only one kind of choice influences the ending you get (save/kill little sister. only thing that really influences the ending). the actual gameplay's kind of good and the atmosphere is spot on, but the fun wasn't enough for a second playthrough for me. i wouldn't buy it.

I haven't played Mass Effect, but it looks a lot deeper and longer than Bioshock. I'd probably recommend this because of that.

In bioshock, when you die you respawn close by with no death penalty. This causes 2 problems. 1) makes the game stupidly easy and anyone could beat it 2) it makes the game boring as balls. So, in my opinion, get ME

Both games are great and must-plays, imo. But overall I'd recommend ME if you really can only get one. ME will give you more gameplay, not only in the first runthrough but also because ME does have more replay value as well.

I would say ME. I played through the whole game 2 and a hlaf times before getting burned out and thats a good 70-80 hours total. I think Bioshock was a good game, but like someone else said I just couldn't get into it.

It all depends on personal preference, but I would go with Mass Effect. You will get more hours of gameplay. Plus, I really didn't care for Bioshock. The environments looked nice, but I couldn't get immersed in the game.

I'm playing Bioshock right now and is awsome. There's not much of replay value though.Mass Effect is not as good but it'll definitely last you longer.

Both with deep good stories, but Bioshock was way better overall.

Mass Effect is your game. It's got great characters, a great story, and a good flow to it once you get it down, and as long as you pay attention, even just a little, you'll get it down.

Bioshock just didn't have flow to it... at least with me. You go from one place to another, gain new abilities, and shoot splicers... more and more splicers, which are just generic people with animal masks on from the 50s. Oh, yeah, the occasional Big Daddy too, but their not that hard, and only show up once in a blue moon (at first). You'll find yourself exploring more in this game than in Mass Effect, which is sad, but in a bad way. You'll be looking for where you need to go, because the maps are weak, and because they never directly give you direction... it's not bad at times, but REALLY bothersome when you're in a giant, underwater garden with about 7 opening in a single room, and 5 levels, up and down, to that room, with respawning splicers, but not respawning ammo. Oh, and the mini-game will start to piss you off after about the 5th time doing it... I was on time number 57 when I stopped playing... 4 hours... wasted...

I found Bioshock to be much more rewarding. Both are great games and you will end up getting both eventually.

Mass Effect has more substance to it due to its genre. I also enjoyed Bioshock but to me I could of just rented Bioshock and I would of been happy with that.
