I bought the game earlier today, I liked the original when I was young and GRIN did an excellent job on the Arcade Rearmed title. However I'm a bit dissapointed with this new version I have to say...

Few things, The swinging mechanics does take some time getting use to, I'm getting the hang of it so hopefully this won't be an issue in the future.

Sometimes the controls get iffy, especially when you are hanging underneath a ledge... when you jump up he clips through sometimes.

The guns have no impact, what's up with pea shooters in games these days?

The visuals, I know, visuals don't make the game, I guess I was just expecting more from the screenshots and artwork they released.

With that said, overall I still enjoy the game so far from what I played, there are lots of things which I do like about it: flip kills, throwing objects, stomps, swan dives, etc. Especially the soundtrack, the piano part of the classic music on the title screen is brilliant.

Hopefully the game will grow more on to me as I progress.

Anybody feel the same? or am I completely insane because this game is just dripping with awesome sauce?

I totally want to check out the game, but I'll have to wait since my Blockbuster doesn't know when it'll be out. My phone call went as follows:

Me: Hi, do you have BC to rent?

BB: No........wait! For Xbox 360?

Me: Yes.

BB: It's $5 to buy on Live dude!

Me: Oh. They made a newer one.

BB: Then no.

Picked it up on my break, so I'll leave some impressions when I get off work and try it out. Looks awesome, though.

I don't know man, I was swinging around like a champ in the MP demo after about 20 minutes of learning the controls. I liked the way it felt. I could swing around the corners of buildings while still nailing people below me with gunfire. I'd even run towards the edge of a building, swan dive, then grapple and swing away while being attacked. Seems pretty awesome in my opinion.

Personally for me, this game doesn't have the high standards that other Capcom games have. The graphics are nowhere near as impressive then what I thought it looked like here on GameSpot. Second, the hanging takes getting used to...and like you said, the guns are horrible. Too much money was spent for me on this game.

Started my own thread on this game. But here goes, I am having trouble getting the swinging down to a fluid thing. I love the idea and the mechanics are just screwing me up so far. Even nailing the release doesn't ensure reaching the next available grapple point sometimes. That's beat to me, as are the guns. They do seem like pea shooters. And I hate when I'm swinging full speed and ground troops are picking me off like the greatest marksmen in history. Aside from that it's great! (sarcasm)

Seems like I'm not the only one feeling this way. Guess I was just expecting more because Rearmed was completely badass. Still a fun game though.

it's just about official.....I suck at this game. I don't want to place all the blame on BC. I am really having a hard time getting controls down. But is it just me or when your in mid air trying to find the next grapple point sometimes is frustrating. I use the D pad to turn quickly but by the time I think I found one I'm usually out of position to keep swinging. Then I attach but just hang from it. The I have to start forward and back to build momentum. I just think the swinging could have been made more fluid and intuitive to use. I don't want to trade it right back in, but this one is frustrating the hell out of me.

Especially when water is below, drop in, begin to drown looking for a place to grappling out of it... ign review 7-8 which is very generous. Gamespot review is more spot on in this case... a 6.0

Loving it. I can't believe how well they nailed the BC feel in 3D. Some of the sections are rather challenging, too. The water and radiation keep things quite old school, even though the radiation can tick me off. Anyways, awesome stuff.

It's a quick bit of fun but that dies out real fast.

I loved the first one but I haven't enjoyed it since.

I know the new game Informer gave it a 6.25 with a second opinion of 5
