Bioshock 2 Review

OXM gave Bioshock 2 a 9.5, I guess it must be pretty good then:D

OXM is probably the worst review source besides gamespot so I would just wait a lil while...it will be a good game, and its my most anticiapated game of the year besides halo reach, but it is only 1 review, and a biased one at that so lets wait and see

im hoping its 9.5 worthy...the single player will be great if they jsut copy the first one, and im way pumped for the multi

Best year ever for the next gen consoles, I don't think anything will beat 2010. I basically have 3 games in my collection that have recieved or will recieve a 9.5 (ME2, Bioshock 2 pre-ordered, BFBC2 pre-ordered).

Then we still have HALO REACH, FALLOUT New Vegas, COD Vietnam, Crackdown 2, Just Cause 2, Dead Rising 2 etc.........

so you think that Fight night round 3 deserved a 10/10...i think not...the magazine has no credibility..after giving that 10 everyone complained and the magazine announced a new policy a couple weeks later sayin that their highest score was an 11 now which makes no sense...

official mags are rubbbish, the reason for this is bias, any AAA game will get an 8 or above no matter how many downfalls it has. Why would you publish an offical mag then slag evertyhing off. It would be a bit like a Ferrari salesman telling you that there next car is rubbish its just not gonna happen.

Anyway regardless of the rating and my fear of multiplayer ruining the single player I will still be getting Bioshock 2 and make my own mind up.

those are 3 of the worst review sites bc they are the major 3 reviewing websites...websites that are that major and mainstream get money from games companies, and are biased...sure they have a lot of great content, and their review scores are fairly consistent but they are not the best...the best review is from someone who is totally unbiased..usually a smaller website...

i personally would go with metacritic or gamerankings.com overall scores bc that gives you everyones combined score

but if u must choice between ign, gamespot, and gametrailers i would go with ign

First I agree with you that OXM is pretty bad at reveiwing, I have an old magazine in my palm right now and they gave DEAD SPACE a 7.5 lol. BUT you would have to admit that this game (Bioshock 2) was bound to recieve high scores from everywhere, so I believe the 9.5 is warranted this time.DranzarTypeF

OXM Gave Mass Effect 2 a 9.5 also.. Gamespot as you know gave it a 9.simo98088

ign gave it a 9.1

Mine got despatched from Zavvi on Tuesday so im expecting it any day now ! I just hope I enjoy it as much as the first !queen_vee

every review is bias in someway so lets leave it at that like 4real. every ones different so if the reviewer isn't into that type of game it going get lower score no matter what. You get you get reviewer who only likes that type of game you going get higher score no matter what. you just cant get a perfect person sorry.

I generally like Gamespots reviews, I find they tend to be more critical which is always good (though the perfect 10 to GTA IV irks me to this day).

Looking great so far... I expect to see a bunch of higher and lower scores on metacritic by early next week - I have a feeling it will round out critically at a comfortable level above or at 90. To be honest though, this was a game I was getting day one no matter what was said about it - if it sucked I'd have to see it for myself. I had faith though that it would turn out to be kind of a hyped up extension of the first game, which is fine by me - I do expect that for the 3rd they will have to make some drastic change to make it fresh again, as I am not sure Rapture can hold up to three visits in a row without there being some major changes to bring the mystery back to the degree it was there in B1.

Why do you people come here and bash Gamespot ??? If you think this site is biased ,then go elsewhere. I like most forum posters like Gamespot and its parent Cnet.

BIO 2 has pretty tough standards following Bio Shock and anything above an 8/8.5 would be terrific.

Accusing them of bias just because there's been a few instances where bribing has 'allegedly'(key word) occured doesn't mean everything they review is not legit. I'd say a good 95%+ of their reviews tend to fall right in line with the rest of the scores produced elsewhere, meaning that they can definitely be trusted.

Plus, a sourcebeing 'small' doesn't mean they're any less biased than anyone else. In fact, these smaller sites/publishers tend to have less 'checks and balances' if ya know what I mean. No one is there to say, "That doesn't sound right...." or whatever. Kotaku is a great example of this. HUGELY biased game review source, but not one of the big 3(IGN, Gamespot, Gametrailers).

I think the most important thing is to read a lot of different reviews, and while you should look at the score to get an overall impression, its far better to actually READ whats in the review to see what they have to SAY about the game. After a few reviews, its pretty easy to get a good idea of what is universally liked/disliked about the game so you can make an informed choice about whether to buy/rent/avoid.

yeah it didnt come today for me either. i really hope it comes on monday. is the art book like a smaller version of the special edition one? coz im guessing it doesnt come with a massive art book. add me and well play some mulitplayer (y):) ive been trying to guess how big itll be incase i have to sign for it or owt

I'd probably also add Eurogamer into the mix and possibly a bunch of fairly honest Gamespot user reviews. But sometimes they can just be so biased.

reviews arent the best place to get an opinion on a game, its best to try it out for yourself

for instance, i like Divinity 2 as well, and the game got a 4.8 from IGN, but i still like it, so screw IGN or GS or GameInformer or 1up, it dont matter
