From the demo it seemed like Bioshock would be too easy. Granted we didn't get to fight any Big Daddies but aren't they the only other enemy besides splicers? I mean it seems like the only thing you have to do is stun everything with electricity and shoot it a couple times.

Is there a way to unlock hard on the demo(I hope it's not beat it on Easy and Medium cuz the cutscenes take way too long)?

The demo included extras to make it more accessable. For example, in retail you don't get the weapons/plasmids in the same place or time as the demo. Also there are extra first aid packs everywhere.

Even with all that considered, Hard mode is still pretty tough.

Yeah but even if you play at hard mode it wont be that much harder cause you never really die in the game. You just respawn and they enemies that you have killed are still dead and the ones you've injured are injured.

please post in the official bioshock topic, its been like 50 bioshock threads today and theyve all been locked. but to answer your question, maybe a little. but I think the toned down the difficulty for the demo

Yeah me too. Prey had a similar approch where you never died you respawned and just continued to play.

Well not all of us wanna spend months of frustration getting through a game.

Ninja Gaiden was redicilously hard and the Devil May Cry games are even worse. I hate those games.

When I play a game I want to enjoy it. Not get frustrated and having to play the same lvl 50 times before its cleared.

Ya, hard games have a more limited appeal. Adjustable difficuly levels are great, im sure hard mode isnt very easy.

well i guess it just depends on your skills of a certain game. i can see why somebody who sucks at ninja gaiden and devil may cry would have no fun playing them because theyd just get owned all of the time. but for those of us who know how to play the games good and kick some ass have an absolute blast playing because they are challenging but really really fun at the same time. the ninja gaiden and devil may cry series contain some of the best action games ever programmed.

Also, don't forget that Bioshock can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be. You can challenge yourself by limiting plasmid/gun use / not using any tonics / using only the wrench etc etc.

I played the demo wrench-only on hard (except to Bolt the door / turret) and it was almost impossible.

True. But most people including myself dont wanna spend weeks even months to get good enough to beat a game.

I know Ninja Gaiden and DMC series isnt for everyone. Those are for real hardcore gamers.

Bioshock is pretty casual.

took a look at the thread to see impressions but instead all of it is just people playing grab ass on the boards. I guess i'll wait for the GS review.
