actually i think you can get an extra 30 percent if you put it towards halo 3. im not sure though. i know if youre a gamestop member and put it towards a game you get an extra 20 percent. but, i think the $25 guess is probably close. so even if they give you more for putting towards halo 3 that would still only be 32.50.
however, you can call and ask them how much its worth.
I just checked gamestop.com. It is $25. They always seize to amaze me. They are making over 100% profit on you.BeErBOnG29
Then don't do it. The problem is, they have to make enough to make it worth while to pay for it and keep it around until it's resold. And they can't sell the used one too cheap or they'd have trouble selling new games and such. And if they buy it from you for more money so you feel better and not upset when they resell it for so much, well then, then they don't have much reason to waste their time with the used games.
Maybe the best thing I could say is they should offer maybe a bit more if you agree to buy a new game right then and there, so atleast some profit already offsets it.

So let me get this straight... You are agreeing with and supporting GS's terrible trade-in prices? Manager? You do realize they don't need to make over 100% profit to make a very nice profit right? Not to mention this is store credit on top of it, haha, not even cash. Storage costs? ... they aren't storing an automobile. There storage costs are very minimal. Face it, GS is a monopoly on the used game market. Don't convince yourself otherwise, whether you work there or not.

All I'm saying it take it or leave it. They can do what they want, even if we think it's horrible, and people seem to be using their system otherwise they'd change it in our favor if it wasn't. Sort of like e-mail spammers and stupid foreign lotto schemes, there are people stupid enough to fall for them so they keep doing it.
Didn't know it was just store credit, that sucks even more, as then that gaurantees the money is spent back with them. If so, then they should pay more for a game from you if that's the case. Kind of how I said it would be nice if they gave you more if you were to buy a game right then. But with store credit, you pretty much have to.
I'm a graphics artists at a newspaper, not a Manager or any other way affiliated with Gamestop, and I never buy from them. Last time I did I had to take the last opened copy from the display shelf. They should have treated it used, as who knows how many times an employee might have borrowed that open display copy home.
As the others have wisely advised you, sell it on ebay. Gamestop makes most of their profit from selling used games that they payed jack-squat for. A manager once confessed to me that they don't even like selling new games because the game developers only give the company $3 for each new game sold.Bubble_Man
Only $3, that's it? Then that could be a reason for the stupid used game prices. Kind of like how theaters charge crazy amounts for food because they get so little from the movie ticket sales.

I then apologize for assuming. Most people that defend them, that I have run into, work there. I do like your idea of GS giving you more if you buy a game on the spot, but I doubt that will ever be implemented due to them giving store credit. It just annoys me that there are people stupid enough to give into their trade-in credit. Too bad that Gamecrazy / Game Rush weren't bigger. Their trade-in prices are much better.
