we know bioshock 1 probably wins in terms of overall impact simply for coming first.
but which game did you find better overall, story setting and gameplay

The first one. It started it all and I remember that game more than Infinite even though I played Infinite recently.
The first one.
Bioshock 1 was an incredibly immersive game with real interesting storyline. I'm playing through infinite now - I would say the storyline is merely ok. The combat is pretty good - but I find it annoying how so many enemies in the game are gifted with massive health bars.
That tiny lil design flaw made me trade Infinite for Bioshock 2. So, by default, Bioshock wins. The first one.

BioShock absolutely blows Infinite away, IMO.
BioShock = one of the very best games this generation has to offer, IMO.
Infinite = quite literally the biggest disappointment for me this generation.
EDIT: I decided to go back and erase "BioShock" from "BioShock Infinite" because Infinite is not worthy of the title "BioShock", IMO.
Deffinatly Bioshock 1 it overall had way better gameplay with weapon upgrades and researching opponents
[QUOTE="Flamingpostman"]you mean you take pictures of baddies and you become stronger (they become weaker) ? Doesn't make sense at all.Deffinatly Bioshock 1 it overall had way better gameplay with weapon upgrades and researching opponents

Of course it does, at least in a fast track, simple way.
You take pictures, you use the pictures to study the enemy, you therefore gain a better understanding of your enemy and, by understanding your enemy better you can more effectively fight them.
Again, the system isn't deep at all, and it's certainly been fast tracked and simplified, but it does make sense.

poor choice of words on my part, its not that it doesn't make sense, its just stupid. There was this one game I use to play a while back, the enemies did have weakness that you could study, discover and exploit, I can't remember the name, but it was way more practical than simply taking a picture, you know whats a good alternate version of the Research Camera ? The infared scope used in President Evil 4. It highlights enemy weakness (only works on Iron maidens) in a much more practical way than "taking pictures makes you stronger". Perhaps if they made the back of the Big Daddy glow if you observed it under a lense then yeah, thats way better, or if taking pictures revealed some insight into enemy behavior. Oh and all the Bioshock games have average enemy designs.Definitely the first BioShock. The setting, the story, the pacing, the gameplay, everything in that game was almost perfect to me. I enjoyed Infinite a lot, but I don't think it managed to achieve the level of greatness that the first game did.

the game is in my top ten.
Easily the first. Infinite was an incredible game but the original was much more innovative and the story was mind-blowing. The story in Infinite was weaker and didn't catch my attention, and the vigors were not nearly as fun to use. That said, both games are great. But that first one... I fell in love with it.
I'd say the first game is better, but not by much at all. The characters in Infinite are better overall, but it's tough to beat Andrew Ryan as an antagonist and Rapture as a setting (and also antagonist!). The city of Rapture felt like a living organism, and while Columbia never reaches this status, it is still a great environment.
All three BioShock games are really great games.
The setting of the underwater city was just awesome not to say that the city in the clouds isn't cool either because it is, but underwater city is much cooler. The beginning of the first was done with so much suspense and you had no idea what was going on, and the beginning of Infinite was good as well but you kinda already knew where you were going and what was going to happen.
I played all the way through the first BioShock, but never finished second one and only played alittle of it, and Infinite I am trying to play but I am not sure if I will finish it either. Even though I don't like Infinite as much as the first BioShock I am really looking forward to playing the upcoming dlc Burial at Sea, which looks great and going back to Rapture sounds soo cool.
