I think that Dead Space is alot more fun and exciting, and BioShock seemed interesting but it is boring.

Bioshock had a much more memorable atmosphere to it I think. Dead Space is still a terrific game though.

They're two different kinds of games... Dead Space is better in its own genre, but overall BioShock is the better game.

Dead space was good, but the story in bioshock got to me more. Once the twist set in, that game went down as one of the best FPS experience this gen.

Dead Space by FAR! Bioshock has decent environments but Dead Space's atmospheres are absolutely phenomenal, and Dead Space tells a much more compelling story. I loved Dead Space so much I've got 1000/1000 of the achievements on the 360! :)

I would say that both games take advantage of their unique atmospheres. Dead Space with its high tech space-age surroundings coated in blood and flesh make for a spooky adventure. I thought the weaponry was well thought out; each weapon gives you a variety of gruesome kills. Not to mention the sound effects in 5.1 surround make it seem as though something is always crawling around behind you. I'm currently playing this title, and it is a highly recommended buy.

Bioshock has a more gripping storyline. Its use of Art-deco design re-enforces the fact that this game takes place in a past era. The characters are frenetic as htey run at you screaming in their blood-stained outfits. The weapons, items and save stations are unique and well though out. The old jazz music and creepy distant sounds make for a stunning atmosphere. If you passed on this one, pick it up as a platinum hit ( only $19.99 I think ) you won't go wrong.

I can't really choose one or the other, but I'd recommend both for your game library. These are the kind of games that you can finish, put away, and take out six months later-crank the difficulty, and re-live them again.

I voted for Bio Shock, but both are great games. When you consider the price difference between the two, it's a no brainer, IMO. Buy Bioshock and rent Dead Space. Game rankings puts Bio Shock as the 3rd best game for the Xbox 360 (with a minumum review of 20). Dead Space is 25. I know reviews are subjective, but when you combine reviews, I find it's more in line with what my family enjoys.

Bioshock. The most memorable story in a video game in my opinion.

I really am a sucker for a good storyline, so I chose Bioshock. Twist endings need more of a complement than Dead Space provided. Even though, as another person already wrote, it was a good thrill ride. When I finished Bioshock I actually planned and look forward to eventually playing through it again. I can't say the same for Dead Space. Many others may though. Enjoy.

Deadspace was all about trying to be spooky, Bioshock however had a great storyline, and took a little longer to complete.. I liked Bioshock a little better just looking at it made me want to play, Deadspace made me think twice, it didn't look all that appealing

I was glad I got to try out the demo first, because Dead Space(demo)'s difficulty really put me off of it; Bioshock's felt particularly more balanced, even if it was arguably easier in the full game with the Vita Chambers. But even just simply turning those off to you has significantly improved the challenge and made those combat moments particularly more tense. The various ways you can ease or burden yourself in Bioshock (depending on how well you prep) go a long way to making the game feel much more balanced than Dead Space felt like. Also, it was much easier to identify with Jack; I can't pinpoint a single reason, other than it was much easier to immerse myself in the vivid world of rapture than to be controlling the equally mute but less personable main character in Dead Space. Also, it's EA - you expect them to do any good with an *original* IP?

I have played both of them and they're really good. I like Bioshock better because of the story, it seems like eating me from the inside. Dead Space is great too but Bioshcok is better.

I couldn't get into Bioshock at all, and Dead Space is not aligned with my genre of choice.
