Dead space was good, but the story in bioshock got to me more. Once the twist set in, that game went down as one of the best FPS experience this gen.
I would say that both games take advantage of their unique atmospheres. Dead Space with its high tech space-age surroundings coated in blood and flesh make for a spooky adventure. I thought the weaponry was well thought out; each weapon gives you a variety of gruesome kills. Not to mention the sound effects in 5.1 surround make it seem as though something is always crawling around behind you. I'm currently playing this title, and it is a highly recommended buy.
Bioshock has a more gripping storyline. Its use of Art-deco design re-enforces the fact that this game takes place in a past era. The characters are frenetic as htey run at you screaming in their blood-stained outfits. The weapons, items and save stations are unique and well though out. The old jazz music and creepy distant sounds make for a stunning atmosphere. If you passed on this one, pick it up as a platinum hit ( only $19.99 I think ) you won't go wrong.
I can't really choose one or the other, but I'd recommend both for your game library. These are the kind of games that you can finish, put away, and take out six months later-crank the difficulty, and re-live them again.
Bioshock because a sequel is coming out and its nice to know what happens in the great city of Rapture, also Bioshock is good if you like FPS's
They're two different kinds of games... Dead Space is better in its own genre, but overall BioShock is the better game.atm0073wow that sums it all up i liked bioshock A SH*T load but i got stuck in it and i never rented it again lol but dead space is easier and awesome still one of ea's best games besides there great sports games
