I have been reading that this game is relatively short (but still amazingly fun nonetheless). From what I gather, it averages about 12 hrs. on the first run through, so even if I wanted to beat it twice and take my time it'd only take about 24 hrs. of game-play. I figure if I rent it I'd get pretty close to playing it twice all the way through.

For those of you who own it and have already beaten it, how much more is there to do the second time around? How is the replay value? I just don't want to buy it and then not touch it in 2 weeks because I've done everything that can be done in that game.

So rent or buy?

Buy. This is a masterpiece of a game that you'll want to pop in every once in a while even after beating every last part of it.

:) No offence but I would assume a person on here with the name BioShockOwnz to be slightly biased LOL But it is a great game played round at my mates last night enough to get me to go and buy it today!!!

I'm probably going to rent it, after reading some comments from people who have played through and finished the game.

Well im a keen collector of video games, so if I find a game I like quite abit I tend to buy it, regardless of longetivity and multiplayer.

If you wish to save money then I suppose you can give it a good but active rental.

i see myself playing it 2 or 3 times. Right now i'm playing it on normal (is it called normal...i dont remember, the second difficulty) and saving the little sisters. My second play through will be harvesting the little sisters, most likely on expert (or hard, whatever it's called, lol). Then sometime down the road i will likely play through again on hard saving the sisters, i heard that makes it quite a bit harder (a lack of adam early on).

Depends on how often you replay games. I rented it.Doesn't really matter though. If you happen to buy it, you're not going to say to yourself, "Damn...that was a waste of money!". It's a great game.

This is a buy. If money is a consideration, why not wait a few months and get it used? It's not as if it will get any less fun to play.

This is the only game i ever bought and when i see it in my collection im like damn. Im glad i have bioshock. Everything else is tripe.

Its like a Stanley Kubrick movie you will watch it but you know you will watch it again in due time simply for its quality.

I have played through bioshock 2 times already, mind you i got it on release and had no social life for a week. Right now vegas is back in but im sure i will be doing more run throughs of the game.

Yeah rent it, if you want to buy it later when the prices drop, its not worth $60 IMO

I'd have to say if you're into sci-fi adventure/mystery games, then buy it. But if you want a really good shooter, this may not be your game.

Probably best to rent it first, just in case.

Well, I see a great number of people here are saying to buy it because they think it's the best 360 game to date. I don't agree with their assessment but to each their own. I rented it and am working my way through it. I have no intention of buying it though. My advice would be to rent it THEN decide if you like it enough to buy. Spend the few bucks to rent it and find out if it is worth it to YOU to then spend $60 or save $60.

Either way I think everyone can agree that the game is worth playing.

BUY! BUY DAMN IT... BUY BUY BUY IT.....MUST OWN IT..... ABSOLUTELY MUST OWN IT.... and that's bull about the 12 hours. It depends how you play, if you rush from A to B, using the hints and shooting your way through, yes you will beat it in 12 hours. But if you take your time, use the plasmids, hack everything, search every corpse, bin...crate...ashtray (not very pretty) and look at the scenery, read all the text written in blood... don't use the hints... it lasts you 20, possibly even 30 hours.

I spent about... 7 hours in the first chapter of the game, "Welcome To Rapture" it's a game of beauty...so...

BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY!!! GO OUT AND BUY!!!
