Interesting rumor I just read on another forum. Blu-Ray may be coming to 360.

that'd be pretty silly since they spend the money to develop an HD-DVD for the 360.  then again, dumber decisions have been made.

If you go to the link that I posted, you would see that their source is from TeamXbox. You can read it there too.

I think that Microsoft should be loyal to HD-DVD. Only when Blu-Ray wins the format war for sure they should release an add-on.

Microsoft stated when they announced the HDDVD back at CES06 I believe that they would support a Blu-Ray drive only if HDDVD throws in the towels.  Microsoft will support the standard media, doesn't matter what company owns it, just they are backing HDDVD as of now.

I posted on this months ago when MS talked about it, I put a link in there to. But at any rate if and when this format war is over stand alone players will be cheap. I saw a blue ray player by SamSung on new egg for $499. That is a big price drop from $999. HDDVD player has drop to $499 from $599. I even saw a sale for one for $399. So there going to keep lowering the price, I say wait then you will be able to buy a good player for cheap then. Remember how much a DVD player use to be, I paid $399 for my first one, I bought one for my parents a coupel years ago for $19.99.

it would be very smart of them to make a Blu-Ray player if HDDVD dies.  MS doesn't have to rely on the success of HDDVD like the PS3 does with Blu Ray, so if Blu Ray wins the format war... it would be the smartest thing to crank out a Blu Ray player for teh X360 so their system can keep up with the PS3.
