I doubt they will do it. tehy've changed skus too much as it is this generation. one more change and it'll really turn consumers that are looking for these new next gen systems away. Darkzero6x2
I have to disaree as long as the SKU is cheaper, especially since the Playstation 3 has dished out 3-4 SKUs in less then a year and is stll selling fine, I don't see why the 360 couldn't do the same thing especially with a blue-ray upgrade.
but since 360 has been DVD-based since day1, they wont switch to blu-ray (or at least blu-ray only) games this gen.
for movies....maybe.

How can you even say that? With the RRoD situation, people are still buying 360s, including existing customers.
i heard from one of my college mates who has alot of knowledge about the 360 that ether this year or next year they will be relasing a newer version of the xbox 360 that will have the HDDVD drive built in...soul_rever
Why? HD-DVD is officially dead and no longer supported, neither by Toshiba nor any retailers.
Personally I doubt very much that we'll see a Blu-Ray DVD drive in the 360 any time soon. Sony will bask in their victory for as long as possible before allowing their patent to go over to a rival console!? Plus what would the 17+ Million 360 owners do? Trade in there worthless 360's for peanuts to then have to buy a, probably, very expensive new 360 with Blu-Ray???
If they do incorporate the Blu-Ray format then it will be either in the next version of the the 360 in a limited capacity, like the Elite, or their next console altogether. Me I'm going for the latter. Personally I think that M$ need to sort out other issues with the 360 before they worry about adding Blu-Ray!

How can i say that? Game analysts have said that the game consoles that have more than one sku turns off the casual gamer market and makes them float towards the game console that isn't so complicated to understand. whther or not this holds up is still up to debate but the thing is that they should plot on making a 360 with a blu-ray player built in because then everyone else that has a 360 now will feel like they got a big disservice from microsoft. if its an add-on then thats fine but if its a new built in 360 i think it'll hurt them in terms of pleasing their fanbase and customers. besides they really do need to concentrate on fixing the rrod problem before doing anything else.It won't happen unless it is multi-format. They will bomb if they release a blu-ray system and start making blu-ray games... evey new game won't work on old systems and old games not on new systems... it would screw everyone. It wont happen. All Blu-Ray drives support DVD and CD.....the only way it would mess up the game market is if all new games started using Blu-Ray discs, then all us owners of previous consoles would be SOL.
