I found an article on smarthouse.com about microsoft making a blu-ray 360, however it does not explain whether or not it is an external drive like the HD-DVD drive, or if it is a console with it built in. I have never heard of the site before, does anyone know how credible it is?

Apple has been on the Blu-Ray Disc Association for quite some time.

I read somewhere that they are sticking to digital distribution.... I think microsoft is making a mistake, with Blu-ray as the next-gen format, how would you prevent people from purchasing a PS3 for the purpose of a Blu-ray player? Release a Blu-ray player on your own console! Then reduce the price of the 360 some more to be competitive with the PS3 when you include the blu-ray add on. IMO, digital distribution of movies sin't going to take off as well as they hope, unless there is some way that it can be offered for a cheaper price...

Gow2 will be much better if they add blue-ray 360games

That was the quote given by Scot Stiener of Sony, not Epic I think still if they use Bue Ray the problem would be that its streaming speed is not fast enough as current DVD's that 360 uses. Also PS3 now uses HDD steaming to make games run fast and 360 till uses non HDD model so they cant support the 1X Buray but they can support the 2X Buray which is better than on the PS3 but will sony Give MS such a drive and if at what cost would you like to pay 300$ for a BLU Ray drive. sony will not be asking less than that I think.

Movies is good but as per the game console I think HDVD should have been carried on by MS for games only. so we might not get movies but can easily get assured that size of games would not be a problem to 360. Just think HDDVD supports 30 GB has fast Data transfer speed than Blu ray and is just 49$ add on now. If it could be used just for game it would worth our money if we consider games. I am not in a mood to get a 300 $ add on for getting Movies along with game it will just suck.

also MS, Toisibha are working on DVD2.0 format to increase the size of the DVD and improve video streaing and Data transfer speed so in such a way that it is compitable with current players lik one on the 360 if so we might be in luck if they are successful to get 20 GB DVd with Data transfer speed more than now so we will not have to pay a single penny for add on to get large size games that might comes in a year or so.
