Borderlanders Are Making Me Laugh

So about 10 reviews are in and it is getting an average rating of 8.5, which most normal people knew it would get. It has a Gamespot user review of 9.3, and a full page of user reviews giving it 10s. I read a few of the reviews and they all say "so many guns its freakin amazing and you should buy this i would easily pay $100 for bordlands". Sorry to pee on anyone's party but Borderlands is not a 9.3, Borderlands is not a 10, and Borderlands is not going to be game of the year, Uncharted 2 will be. Borderlands will not win any graphics or gameplay awards because Uncharted 2 and Batman AA will. I guess you do have Gamestop Magazine... I mean Game Informer, they may give it a 10.

I got borderlands and I would give it... maybe a very low 9, high 8.

But not a 10, then again I have NEVER given a game a 10.

I agree that Borderlands probably won't win game of the year, but you don't need to be such a chode about it. If people want to be overly enthusiastic about the game, then let them.The fun factor of this game certainly warrants their enthusiasm.

The first I heard of anyone even hinting it would be GOTY was the OP.

Agreed. Play the game first then u will see why everyone that has it likes it some much like myself, but till then dont write a thread bashing a game that u have not freaking clue about.

well, i havent played uncharted 2 (didnt like #1) but I can say Batman was good, not GOTY contender though (imo anyway).

With that said, Borderlands to me looks decent...but i wouldn't go off saying it doesn't deserve a 9.3, especially since you havent played it. And those are user reviews, those people's opinions. If a game to them is incredible or best of the year, whos to say your opinion is the correct one?

You haven't even played it so how can you have an opinion? Also what makes you think Uncharted 2 will get goty when it does nothing new and for the mp the melee system is broken and it has a lot of bullet lag.

Imo, Borderlands took the Fallout 3 formula of a post apocolyptic world, massive areas for the game player to quest in and made it better with vehicles, a bajillion guns, ton and tons of loot and tons of enemies to kill. I am level 17 right now and have been having a blast with the game. Id give it a 9 easy!!

...And that doesn't stop it from being a great game.:|

What? People make stupid hyped-up reviews for a lot of games.

Why not ditch your bias and go out and try the game yourself? It's pretty good, particularly in the company of friends. GOTY may be pushing it, but it's a very worthwhile addition to the market.

why should it matter whether borderlands receives GOTY or not? what does batman and uncharted 2 have to do with people enjoying borderlands?
