Maybe I was a little over the top in my opinion of the game. The one thing I really don't understand about how they hyped this game is how they tried to sell the RPG elements as being a new feature to FPS. I mean, Fallout 3 was as much, if not more, of an RPG than this. Where I really lost it for the game is the repetitiveness of the missions. Seems like you're always collecting random crap or trying to kill a bigger version of whatever the dominant creature in the area is. This is what I get for starting this game right after Assassins Creed 2 and Uncharted 2.AaaSS82
1. Fallout 3 is more of an RPG because it is an RPG. Borderlands is an FPS/RPG hybrid, focusing on FPS.
2. They made the game like Diablo, where you loot like crazy to get "teh 1337 loot!!!!"
Here, I'll show where you lost me
I was pretty excited about it until it went cel-shadedAaaSS82
Considering it's one of the best looking games this gen and is oozing more style then Tim Gunn in a bear hug I have to say that you're not wrong but you're certainly in the minority about this game
I was misleading with that comment. I do like the cel-shading, it looks great, but I remember the first preview I saw in Game Informer and it had a much more destitute feel. Kinda Gears of War/Mad Max-ish.AaaSS82
Gears of War is one of the reasons they chose cel-shading. So many games this gen have gone for the "gritty, mud brown, gun metal grey filtered" look. They wanted to be unique.
Seriously. Am I the only one who thinks this game is garbage? I was pretty excited about it until it went cel-shaded, but even then I was still looking forward to it. I'm at level 26 and this effin' game makes me feel like I put in a day at the office. Go here, collect that, but don't go too far cause the guys are gonna respawn right away. It's like someone thought, "Hey Fallout 3 was okay, but there was way too much of a storyline. Oh, and too many locations and textures. Let's make a game just like it and take away everything that makes it fun." Alright. I'm done venting. Give me crap if you must.AaaSS82I liked the cel-shading. Made the game very unique. I think the game was great for a playthrough but then got boring. I made a beast level 50 hunter and now im done. But i liked it while it lasted.
I thought it was a great game and I'm enjoying the DLC right now. It's only boring when playing it alone in my opinion at least.
Wow, its actually my second favorite game of the year, second only to Left 4 Dead 2. I never had a dull moment. Maybe its because I played the whole game (Second playthrough and DLC) with Chaos Cougar. I had a blast playing that game.
It was fun when I played with a friend, but once we got our characters to level 50,we really had no desire to ever go through the game another time with a new character. There's just no storyline or driving force to actually make you want to play again.I have to say it was disappointing for me.

That's a fair and pretty good view on the game. But that's almost like every game, so that's not really a criticism. I don't think I can play Fallout 3 with another character again or Diablo II with every class.
aye, and hopefully the next DLC wont be finished in a sitting hahaWow, its actually my second favorite game of the year, second only to Left 4 Dead 2. I never had a dull moment. I think the way they went with the graphic was smart. It was the first game that use the unreal engine that I would suck has good graphic since there is no texture popping. Mass Effect, The Last Remnant, Gears of War one And two all have the problem with the unreal engine texture popping.
The story in both Borderlands and Fallout 3 suck very bad.

they should've made the enemies more unique, as well as the vehicles, and the guns, and the missions the game sucks big time. it's such an overrated pile[QUOTE="Phoenix534"]

Plese stop bumping week old threads.
Borderlands is awesome. And it introduced me to Cage The Elephant who is now one of my favorite bands (but I have tons of favorite bands so that doesnt mean a whole lot lol) but the game was fun and they seem to be doing pretty good with DLC. Hopefully they'll have the storage locker in the next one or at least soon after. I hate getting rid of a good gun even if I know its for a better gun and I'll never use it anyways. Also, the experience completely changes depending on the classes you play with.
