And wow skate just shows how stale the tony hawk series is these days, I seriously used to be the biggest fan but wow it just sucks now ever since THUG 2 ended I havnt liked them... but this one just puts the nail to the coffin.
I played every tonyhawk to date, and this tony hawk, comparded to Skate, Blows. Skate is just sumthing tony hawk should have slowly went too, but the messed up. good job EA.
Yup, THPG is terrible. Somehow Activision has managed to make it worse than THP8. The graphics, environment, and animations are all a downgrade from THP8. If you want a Tony Hawk game, then save yourself $40 and pick up THP8 for $20 new at Gamestop. You'll be very happy you did.
With that said, Skate is definitely one of the better games and kills off the THPS franchise.
I totally agree, but I'm wondering what happened to the TH series after THUG2. I'm on the same boat where I loved them until THUG2 and hated everything since, but I have no idea why. I really can't put a finger on what changed, but I hated project 8.
i actually like thpg demo better than the skate demo...different strokes for different folks!

i think the skate demo sucks big time. i also dont like the tony demo either. i used to be the biggest tony fan in the world, but after so much of it i think i just got burned out on it.
I downloaded the skate. demo back when it first came out. Solid demo but Im only renting it. My brother downloaded the TH demo earlier and I decided to play it. And yea, HORRIBLE.
Tony Hawk 1-2 owned. Went downhill after that. Tony Hawk Project 8 redeemed itself and was a FANTASTIC game. Demo of the new Tony Hawk is lame. Skate...meh I' don't care much for the "realistic, can't do insane moves" type game. I want to fly 1000 feet and do triple backflips =P COnstantly

Well the thing is if you like fake/arcadey gameplay then you'll like TH more. I personally think it is dumb how you do tricks and how you can run with your board and do more tricks and it counts as one trick still... And the air and stuff is just lame. That's me though because I like more sim gameplay which is what Skate delivers. Plus, you do have WAY more control over your character in Skate.

- lol...it's the controls i prefer and the nail the trick option is too cool, i won't be buying either game...just wanted to express my impression of the demos. :)
I can not recommend Skate to people enough. It's a great game. Even though the downfall of the Tony Hawk series has been going on for the pass couple of games, I think THIS will be it.
