Bought xbox 360 and got RRoD on start up!

I bought my 360 premimum on monday and as soon as i started the console up for the very first time, i get the 3 RRoD and the error message to call MS or whatever. Anyway, i thought it was funny, so i turned it off and then restarted it again and no problems since. I purchased the 2yr warranty from bestbuy so im not worried about it craping out on me as long as its within the 2yr period. Any thoughts on the chances of the RRoD returning?

as long as it holds up untill next month when the improved 360's show up! lol. i just couldn't wait any longer to play since i had sold all my other older consoles! just had to get it now, specially since BIOSHOCK is going to be available in like a week.

lol, well a week for me since every gamespot, ebgames, walmart, target, bestbuy ive called won't have it till Aug. 21st!

That's an error with the A/V cable. So it's not the RRoD.

Wait what??? You BOUGHT a 2yr warranty from Best Buy??? You realize that all 360s are covered for 3 years right?

Wait what??? You BOUGHT a 2yr warranty from Best Buy??? You realize that all 360s are covered for 3 years right?

Calm down there youngster! 3yrs only and i repeat only covers the 3rings issue, where as my warranty covers anything technically wrong with my system. Plus, i hate having to send my stuff in and wait days even weeks or months to get it back and then when u do get it back, it probably ends up being a refurbished system, unlike walking into the store and just getting a brand spankin new 360.

Interestingly though, when i shut it off, i didn't even mess with readjusting the cables. all i did was turn it right back up!

Same reason I bought my in store warranty. If it screws up no waiting to get it fixed and no worry about getting a referb unit, just go in and get another one brand new.

Count the rings carefully. 3 red lights means = death of the 360 and 1 or 2 (I don't remember) means you have a cable unplugged.Trickshot771
