No, you cannot connect to the internetz via a direct port through your PC. You'll get a diagram showing you how to connect to Xbox live when you get the thing. But if you're saying it's connected to a wireless router then i'm sorry but you're gonna have to buy a Xbox 360 wireless adapter which is pretty pricey for something that should have come with it. Unless you just play near your router and use an Ethernet cable.

there are you option.

1) [xbox] ==============================wired============ [modem]

2) [xbox] ==============================wired =============[router]===== [modem]

3) [xbox]==[xbox wireless adapeter]--------------------------wireless-----------------[router]====[modem]

4) [xbox]===wired===[Wireless Access Point]-----------------------wireless--------------[router]====[modem]

Sorry, i know it's annoying but with Microsoft you always have to pay more. I had to buy a wireless adapter. It looks like you have to as well.

rather than buy a 100 xbox wifi. you can just buy a 40 buck (wireless bridge/access point), set up the wireless access using your pc, once it's setup, unplug it and connect the wireless bridge to your xbox (with the ethernet cable). and bang, instant wifi connection for only 40 bucks instead of 100.

I bought a TrendNet 300Mbps Wireless N Access point for 40 in amazon. and i'm using it for my xbox connection. and if you have N router.. you actually have faster speed than the Xbox Wifi. :)
