lol how did you manage that TWICE! I'd try tweezers or something like that but can't really think of anything else
yeah...twice. :| the first time was few months ago though. but i ended up buying a black controller, so it was definitely worht it. Well I figured out how to get the pin out of the plug. just for future reference for anyone that has a similar issue, pop out the battery pack and behind and between the battery springs is the slot for the headset plug. If you push a push pin carefully through the hole (from the outside of the controller, not from the battery pack area), you can push the pin into the battery area. then you just pull it out with tweezers.
That just saved me from having to buy another controller.
hmking,
Thank you! I am glad I found this thread. I experienced this exact same problem and your solution worked wonderfully.

Djmaster214,
We are talking about just the tip of the pin connector, which is maybe only a few millimeters in length, and lodged so deeply and securely in the controller socket you can't even see it.
To remove mine, I had to remove the controller battery pack as hmking04 explained, so you can see the pin up inside the controller. I then used a sewing pin bent like an L to push the pin back out. I'm out one crappy headset, but at least not a valuable controller as well. Thankfully, it's an easy fix.
