So I'm a new 360 owner. I just got mine last week. Loving it so far.

I just had a quick question. The bullet lag in Gears Of War is really bad. I played at a friends house before I owned a 360 and the lag was pretty bad. I was just wondering why is there bullet lag? is it only in Gears? or do other games share the same problem?

It all depends on the host. Some guys have a perfect connection for you. Others, not so much. I've learned to shoot to where they're going in order to get them.

Most 360 games do not run on dedicated servers, stuff like Gears and R6V dont, and suffer from pretty bad bullet lag, but not game ruining bad.

Halo and cod4 have it, but its just not apparent because of clever programming.

Thanks for your replys guys.

So do Halo and COD4 run on dedicated servers? Making them have next to no lag right?

before you join a game look on the right side of the matchmaking screen (next to which map it says the game is in).... only join the games that have 3 horizontal lines and there should be little to none bullet lag

Halo doesn't have it. Many of the guns ammo moves slowly(needler and plasma guns in particular)

It does, but they made it so that instead of seeing any delay with the bullets, intead the damge is delayed. If you join a far off forwign game it will be apparent when you headshot someone and they take a sec to die. Im just going from halo2 experience here, but in general, lag must exist in some way or form.

Look, I murdered english! ^^^^
