Fox recently put out a report saying BulletStorm is geared toward advertising toward a younger adolescent audience and considered too violent. Filled with profanity and sexual content. Hey! Thatt's why its a M rated game. Technically young kids shouldn't play it. Now if their parents are irresponsible enough to buy it then their parents should be held liable.

So what if you're aiming your shots at different parts of the body. Other games reward you for head shots!

The rating system works! I'm tired of groups slamming games when the problem are the parents or people selling games to unaged kids.

Folks, there's even a rating setting in XBOX that can be used if the paranet is intelligent enough to activate it.

So to answer my question. HELL no!(M-rated response edited out) It's a M-rated game aand adheres to the rating without question!

See Fox's article below

Its the dumbest thing I've ever heard. There's nothing worse in this game than we've seen in countless others and the fact that its rated M should tell the idiots at Fox that its not intended for the young audience they are saying it will "damage." Honestly, from what I've seen and played in the demo, this game is pretty mild.

I guess blowing off a Locust head in Gears with a shotgun is considered acceptable.

I think Fox is just jealous that they didn't come up with the saying "d*ck t*ts" :P

I hate it when people say that video games are damaging kids these days. Don't buy the higher rated game for you 10 year old son!

Exactly. The thing thats most annoying is that non-gamers assume gaming is for "children" so when a game is released with lots of gore or violence or sexual content regardless of the fact it has a M or 18 certificate they assume that "children" will be playing it. The only way kids will be playing these sorts of games comes down to irresponsible parenting. What they seem to forget is the average age of the "gamer" is now 31 years of age. Incedently that is my age and I think that is my choice if I want to see such content, im certainly old enough. Buying a game for a younger person that is that violent is just as bad as buying them booze or a violent film, its no different and people need to understand this. Long gone are the days of astroid and pong.

10 year olds shouldn't play Bulletstorm like 10 year olds shouldn't watch Saving Private Ryan.

Video games still have a stigma that they're only for children, but that is slowly starting to fade away with the Wii coming into play.

Well, I don't personally consider Bulletstorm to be too violent. For me it's not, but for a 9 or 10 year old it definitely is. Along with the profanity and sexual references made in the game.

However, if parents didn't know about parental controls or have them activated, then any kid with a Live account could have accessed the Demo and gotten to play it without even going through the process of dealing with an incompetent store clerk.

In the end, it all comes down to parents. I don't know how a 9 or 10 year old would get to a store without their parents anyways. If the parents are there with the kids and they're still not screening what their children are purchasing, then it's their own fault. Too violent and graphic for 10 years olds, but not for me.

Also, I think that some parents are just plan clueless about games since they probably never played that much themselves. And that can be a dangerous combination when raising a child who's agrument is that so-and-so's parents lets him play this game.

A M rating isn't meant to be ignored just because some other clueless parents are letting their kids play. It means to use extreme caution and parental common sense. My son is 13 and says his friends are playing Call of Duty and Halo "Why can't I?"

My answer is you're too young for that (even though I've played those games). There are many other games you can play and still have fun. Plus at his age there are many other rewarding things he can do outside of video games. Balance is what I'm showing him not mere flow the herd mentality.

Actually, to some extent... I agree. ;) At least when your kid is sitting in his room blowing the heads off alien prostitutes he's not out roaming the neighborhood with his friends getting into trouble.

My answer is no, but I have a slightly different view on the "parenting" issue that TC brought up. Every kid is different, because every family is different.

TC says he doesn't let his kid play CoD at age 13, but I was playing Mortal Kombat at 12 years old when it came out in the arcade (1992, putting me at 31 now). I didn't go shoot up my school because I wasn't CRAZY. I knew right and wrong and I got my ass whipped if I ever stumbled into the latter. But then again, I was raised in a decent home and went to Sunday School until I got my first job at age 13.

I don't give a rat's ass what BS any shrink comes up with, but video games aren't responsible for some kids getting violent, it is their **** upbringing. It is the family's fault. Whether a daddy was abusive, mommy was neglective, or big brother was a F-up, the kid has a warped mind because of it. Too many families have these whacked out situations going on that they are too busy with and their kid isn't learning how to be responsible for their own actions.

Take that stupid wench that let her kid crank up her credit card bills and then she cries woe. Get the **** out of here. Learn to teach your kid some personal responsibility.

Honestly TC, each to his own, but if you don't think your 13 year old kid knows enough about right and wrong to be able to handle playing a violent video game and come out with just "gaming" satisfaction, and not "violent" satisfaction, you might not trust your own parenting.

And if I had a dollar for every mom or dad I see typing something in on their "smart phone" while their little brat is running around kicking F'in ankles, I would be able pay off the US deficit. Get off of Facebook and be a parent. So what if your stupid crops die, you yuppy snot mother.

Oh, and I'm not saying that TC is anyone of those examples of bad parenting...

In fact, being over protective would be better than letting your 13 year old kick ankles...

Wait... do you use Facebook on a smart phone?...

Its rated M,enough said.Games are as free as any other medium and no different in their content or demographic. If people are so worried then the problem is with parents and game shops who arent enforcing the ratings.

Last time I checked M stands for Mature 17+, so I don't see how its "geared toward a younger audience when it clearly states the audience its intended for.

No, by far. Someone show them Postal, Leisure Suit Larry, GTA San Andreas.

Hey, does anyone remember this'debate'from Fox News? The one where they ignored the video game expert who had played through the entire game?

I agree. Apologize me for saying this, but if I was the guy from Spike TV, I would've walked over to that studio and smacked those reporters. Seriously, how ignorant can you be? Did I miss the part of Mass Effect where you can have multiple sex partners? Geez.

LOL! Wow!. I haven't seen this before. Those reports really didn't do their research. There's no full digital nudity or sex in Mass Effect! Well this really brings Fox News view on video games to a understanding. They don't know what they're talking about. Almost like that old beer commercial when some guy thought he knew much about sports but was talking out of his rear end. Fox News on video games is one sided, unbalanced reporting, and is trying to promote their own views (agenda) on something they truly know nothing about.

Have they not seen manhunt 2 or the other 100 more violent games? It's M for Mature, so it's up to yourself if you want to play it. And what's wrong with the words Gag and Rear? Screw Fox.

I wouldn't call a game "Too violent" as however violent it is, it's only the one playing it that can decide out from their own view of the game. Just look in the past some thought a game like Prototype was far too violent while some thought it wasn't violent enough. There are simply too many different views on games to say if there is too much or too little of something in it.

I'm not going to vote on the poll, because it's rated M. Thus, it should be for adults. If any kid has the game, their parents would have to buy it for them. Thus, the parents are liable. I'm not sure why people don't think, "My kid just asked me to buy this game, and the cashier needs to make sure I'm 17? I should look into this game before letting my child play it."
