I had every intention of picking this game up this week. That is, until my 360 RROD'd on me Sunday night. :(
But I'll totally pick up a copy once I get my console back. I loved the demo.septemberluc
I thought the demo was pretty good but the full game blows it away. The entire game, all roads, all races, is open from the very beginning and you have total freedom to do them whenever you want. Its a great game. And the challenges online, theres 50 for every person in the room. 50 for 2, 50 for 3, 50 for 4, all the way up to 8 people. Thats 350 online challenges. Just awesome.
Yeah, I was apprehensive about getting the game with the whole new format Criterion was going with, but it turned out to be completely amazing! Driving around the city is great, and imo showtime is so much more fun than crash. I love the fact that everything is seamless too, you can just instantly start any event, and driving through any of the drive thrus just instantly fixes your car, paints it, or puts boost in it...instantly!
God it's amazing!
yea i cant stop playing this game, im already at the Class B license aandrew610
I spent like the first 4 hours of this game just driving around not doing any races at all. Its so much fun to be able to do whatever you want. I just now started doing races to get liscences.
Ok, i am possibly picking this game up tomorrow...However, i have a concern.
The IGN video review explains that it's easy to get lost or confused during a race...he mentions that the only way he was able to figure out his route from beginning to ending of the race was to pause and check the map prior (and sometimes during) a race.
Has anyone had this problem? I don't want to have to pause before every single race to look at the map....i especially don't want to pause in the middle of a race...
this will help me decide if the game is worth a buy

I havent had this problem at all. The DJ tells you which direction to go, ("Head West to the Ballpark",). Then theres a compass at the top of the screen with a checkered flag showing where the finish is according to the direction youre heading and theres an arrow showing you which direction youre heading away from, or to, the finish. I havent had to use the map at all to figure out where to go yet and ive done over 30 races so far.
no i never get lost in races its really easy to follow the compas

ya....ok, thats what i figured....i didn't think Criteron would release a half-fast job on that...thats the basis of the game!
The other thing about not being able to restart a race is a little annoying but excusable.
Is the online as fun as Revenge? Cause Revenge was incredible online (aside from the horrible EA servers)

"What happens next is up to you". Did the devs watch the Matrix too much?? :P This game is amazing. The best in the series. The open world gameplay is exactly what the Burnout franchise needed!
