I'm not going to take the risk on buying one.
Is there a way to avoid your 360 from breaking?

Sweet another worthless thread... 360's do not constantly break and are not risks. How many retarded threads have to be made about this? New worse thread ever....vector5252
the failure rate is significantly high... to the point where MS won't even comment about the problem, but will extend the warranty to early adopters. Peter Moore even avoids the situation in interviews... calling the failure rate a "moving target".
the worry for someone's X360 breaking for no apparent reason is logical. the thing breaks a lot. and this is coming from a guy who has had their X360 not break once.Â
Well I'm probably gonna get mine from somewhere like Best buy or Gamestop and get there warrenty on it so I an just take it in if it breaks and get a new one on the spot...I think they still have that warrentyVardan_902nd
get it from BB or CC (circuit city). the Gamestop warranty is twice the price.Â
oh and like me you might just also lose you downloaded conten when they send it back... ive lost 5 games                          4 downloadedcontent packs for games and like 5 themes...andall because i have a differentsystem and they dont work on my old one... "unless im hooked to XBL" which i dont have access to anymore..

then why make a post if you're not going to buy one?....we don't care
If buying the xbox 360 is a risk then buying any other console is a risk because they are all electronic machines and there is always a chance something could happen. So if purchasing videogames for you is a "huge" risk then go play hop-scotch or something.atreyu27
I take good care of my electronics and was never one who cared too much if something had a warranty on it or how long it is.But the fact remains that XBOX360s dies on you more than electronics or game consoles should. You dont get all these complaints about XBOX1...PS2..Wii or the PS3. People logging long continuous hours on it because of XBL could factor into it too.
If it does they send you one for free whats the risk?I'm not going to take the risk on buying one.

There is also a risk of the ps3, Wii, PCÂ breaking down !!!
All electronic devices have a risk of breaking, so what is the point of this thread. Just take out a warranty.
So far my Xbox 360 has broken once and only had to pay for shipping costs even without warranty.Â
However, that said I'm kind of dissapointed because my Xbox never once had any problem from 3 years of playing it while my Xbox 360 broke with minimal use and only 6 months into use.Â
What happened MS? I mean Xbox was a tank and now the Xbox 360 is like fragile as hell.
So many ideas being thrown around as fact in here. So many lies being thrown around. Anyone can say anything and people enjoy it when they can downplay a product especially in regards to the console wars. It would amaze me if anything truthful is written in these many terrible threads.vector5252
You sound like you really hate being here.
Why don't you go do something else?Â

I like getting some game information here but these I hate xbox 360 threads are so annoying. Do not worry I will stop helping keep these going....Â
Well, actually for the first year, buying an X360 has absolutely no risk at all.Â
But yes, some do break down, and of those that break down, some are due to owner neglect or ignorance, and some are due to hardware malfunction. All I know, is mine hasn't broken down, and I hope it never does *knock on wood*.
I'm not going to take the risk on buying one.

Well for starters, you do not I repeat YOU DO NOT want to smash it with a hammer. That usually prevents it from breaking, oh and dropping it off of tall buildings lol. But seriously their isn't a very big chance of it breaking just give it lots of ventilation room, and I heard its better to keep it horizontal.
These problems are going to happen no matter what you do, sooner or later. You'll still find the occasional guy on his first unit, but they always get issues in the end. Fact is, if you're going to buy a console, 360 is the last choice at the moment till the issues are fixed. Going to take a chance MS will keep replacing dmged disks? I dont know if id be so up for that.I'm not going to take the risk on buying one.
