Buying a 360. Is it reliable?

I'm purchasing a 360 in a couple of weeks and I'm wondering if I should. I've heard all these stories about the "3 red lights" and freezing and whatnot. Money isn't really an issue so should I put my trust into the 360 or buy a PS3?

If I were you I would go ahead and buy it. I have had no problems with mine. Half of the failures are probably because people keep their xbox in a hot room or cram it with all their junk. Even if yours does break, when you get it replaced, it will probably come with the new chip and you will not have any more problems with it.JakeTD21

Wow, Your not getting the point. Who wants to go through calling up MS, getting a box sent to them, shipping it and waiting a month for it to get back. A longer warranty doesn't excuse the fact that's it's not relaible.

360 = nice white color or nice black color

360 = 3 models to choose from

360 = 1080 HDMI

PS3 = Cell processor (dont quite know the benefits but sony made it sound like its the be all, end all)

Falcon is the code name for the chip it's not going to be the name of the system. They'll do a recall on the elites and I'm guessing the regular 360's and just implant the chip.

three year extended warrnty man, of course it's reliable besides it has awesome games like crackdown, gears of war, oblivion, dead rising, r6v, graw-2, viva pinata etc. you should get one asapKoNtRa_

Dude he'd be smarter to buy it after the chip gets installed on the systems. It's worth the wait to get a better machine.

ive had my 360 for a bout a year now and i sent my original in cuz like i plugged it in to a outlet and i turned it on and as soon as i started playing Quake 4. the light went out and my tv went out and the 360 was on but nuttin on the tv. the lights came on evntually and i had to send my 360 in 4 repair and i gotta replacement 360. ANYWAYZ>>>> back to your question ever since i got the replacement 360 i haven had a problem wit it since. so yeah i'd say its worth the buy.

Wow, I'm sick of these threads... Yes, some of the Xbox 360's have problems, just like some Wiis and PS3s have problems...every machine has issues, and some of them fail. Personally, Mine has never and I have had mine since launch..RandomTask221

Yeah I am getting sick of these threads to, people come to the boards to ask others to make decisions for them. NO the earlier 360s as you can see weren't realiable and the ones now are I WOULD THINK better. But if money isn't the issue why even ask the question? Just get a 360 and a ps3, that is if.... "money isn't an issue". and the 3 year warranty well yah that counters any question about realiablity cuz you can just get a new one.

If you get one get a two year in store warranty because iv gone through three and the 3 to 4 week wait for it to come back from repair is a major pain.
