Hey everyone I'm thinking about buying a Xbox 360 Elite within the next two weeks, I just like to know does the Elite model have built-in wireless connectivity like the Ps3? What are the chances of the Elite model getting the RROD? I heard the newer 360's come with this "falcon chip" which is suppose to reduce the chance of this, how do I know if I'm buying a 360 model with this chip? Also what are the accessories that I need for the Elite model? Thanks!

no built in wireless, red ring is rare in new systems, but can still happen.simple way to keep away from rrod, have it in an open area, stuff 3-6 inches away from it.should be good.lay it down.im not sure by the model of falcon chip but i think the elite started with it,you should be good.no accessories needed.buy a years live 50$,very worth it.hope to see you on live!oh almost forgot, wait a bit,20gb is gettin a price cut rumor, maybe the elite will also.

Sadly, there is no built in Wireless, you have to buy an adapter for about 99 dollars. I don't know the specifics, but I hear the Elite is supposed lowered RRoD chances. Falcon Chips use less power which help prevent RRoD and they are found in any console made after August 07, so check the manufacturing date on the back of your 360. A way to find out before purchase is by seeing 150W on the box so that makes it likely you might get a Falcon. 150W can also be seen on your powerblock. Accessories you need may be the Wireless Adapter since you might want wireless, Xbox LIVE definitely for multiplayer gaming, extra controllers are completely optional. Oh and Microsoft Points if you want DLC and Themes and Gamerpics.

Don't buy an intercooler however. Most feed off of the Xbox itself making it use more power and actually raise the chance of the RRoD.

I'm looking to buy a 360 also, when is this price cut supposed to happen? I heard before E3, which would place it this week but I dont want to wait forever to get one for a drop that might not happen soon..

Well I "Jumped In" and purchased myself a Xbox360 Elite today at Bestbuy. The console comes with two games,Marvel Utimate Alliance and Forza Motorsport 2, I also bought Ninja Gaiden II and Dead or Alive Extreme 2, the rechargeable battery thing, and a two year warranty. I don't have LIVE yet because I need the wireless adapotor to be able to be on-line. I went to a few places that either only had them in white or just did not have them. I'll look again sometime this week. So far no complaints very nice console. :D

all MS needs to do is get that jasper board in the 60gb SKU thats coming out, then i'll pick one up. I'm assuming tha's what their going to do but obviously they would never announce it ahead of time as that would hinder sales a bit. They claim the new units that are out now have fixed the heat issues but my friends Halo edition just crapped out on him. first a disc read error then RROD. I need a reliable unit for gears 2 and fable 2 when the're released!
