I;m curious if anyone can share their experience purchasing flat screens or any other
expensive electronics at stores like: Best Buy, Cirucuit City, etc. on black friday?

Since I have to wait until close to year's end i'm wondering if it's worth the hassle.

I appreciate it.

Best Buy would be a living hell. My Best Buy has a front and a back entrance...they had to lock one just so they could form a line that almost wrapped around the entire shopping center.

My advice is go somewhere smaller. I picked up mine at a PC Richards, I waited maybe an hour...I only got there 30 minutes before open. It was the exact same TV I had picked up at Best Buy.

Plus sometimes they have limited amounts. And if you want the front page flyer ad...Even if you're at near the front of the line, maybe the front 50, they will only have a set number of them in stock. It's almost a gaurantee that 90% of people there want that front page item. Try and go somewhere smaller, and keep an eye on the fine print to see how many they will have in stock. Good luck.

Yeah, there will DEFINITLEY be a long line, but it is worth the wait. A friend of mine got a 42" 1080P LCD for $800. regular price was like $1800. From Wal-Mart though. (Polaroid)

Usually you can get the same deals online, if you wake up early and go to the store's website on Black Friday. It beats wating in line.

Screw black friday, befriend someone who works at best buy... You pay what the store pays to get the TV and 5% sales tax... You basically get the tv on Wholesale :)....

I bought one last Black Friday. All you have to do is order it online for pickup. I waited for 5 minutes, and had my TV home 40 minutes after I left for the store (10 minute drive).
