Xbox 360 arcade? I was thinking of buying a 360, but I only need it to play Left 4 Dead 2, Crackdown, ODST and maybe 1 or 2 more exlusive games.

Since I already have a PS3 I will be sticking with that for multiplats and stuff, just because I am so use to the controller.

Will the xbox 360 arcade be good enough, and do games require game installs like the PS3 which means I need at least a 20gb hardrive? How much does a network adapter cost, I heard it is outragelously high?

I've looked around, but how much should an arcade cost used/new? With that walmart deal, it is messing around with people prices..

if you want to play on xbl you will need a hd.

or games such as forza 3

you can get a network adaptor for around 50-60 used on ebay or amazon.

The arcade will be good enough if you aren't trying to do too much. If you are getting Left 4 Dead 2 and ODST though, I am guessing you want to play online and you do need the hard drive for that. Network adapters are a joke. They are like $50 for a third party adapter, and $100 for a Microsoft one. Considering that PC network adapters are about $10, and there is no reason that the 360 can't use a normal PC adapter, yes, they are ridiculously expensive. I'm not sure how much the Arcade is now, but I really think you should look into finding a Premium model with the 20gb hard drive. They are not much more, and you don't need to install games for them to work. I've had a Premium since launch and never had the need for a bigger hard drive.

If you read one post, make it mine.... You CAN play online fine WITHOUT a HDD. It's amazing how many people still think that you can't play without one. The only things you can't do is play any DLC or download any, because it won't fit. The arcades come with enough space for your gamertag and you can play online fine. I used to think the same thing until... My friend-"Yea I just bought the 360 arcade"." Me-"Awesome, you need to get a HDD though, so we can play online" Friend-"I play online all the time, I was just playing without a HDD." Later on I played with him and realized you don't need a HDD, the arcades have enough built-in memory. The arcades cost $200 new. The 360 wireless adapter can be had from Walmart or Amazon for about $75. Make sure you have a wireless router with good signal before buying the adapter though.

Ok, but I was eyeing some DLC, so I guess I will need the 20gb hardrive, I also have a network adapter from the ps2/xbox days, I think it will work. I will look into those 360 Pro. The thing with the arcade, at Walmart they had a $100 deal where you get an arcade for $200 and an egiftcard to Walmart for $100.

Yep it's a great deal. It's not en e-gift card either. It can be used in-stores, they don't hand out e-gift cards in-store. If you can find the Arcade, just do that and then you can use the $100 gift card for an adapter or hard drive. I don't think you'll be able to find one now though.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Once you play the 360, you will be hooked and want more, but what? now you have no hard drive, or HD cable, or headset.

GET. THE. PRO.

I got the arcade and I'm still suffering, don't put yourself through the same misery

Wrong. It comes with built in 512 MBs which you can use to save games and access Xbox live. Without the HD, you can't download game demos or DLC.

also, with ODST..all the DLC maps are on the disc so no hard drive is needed. you can just buy a 20 gig hard drive for like $30 online in the future if you ever want to expand.

you can buy a 60gb pro with just 50$ more, the HDD in valuable for storing updates or downloading games besied there'er a lot of games that require HDD to save otherwise you'll have to switch Disks all the time and the adabtor costs around 65$ or 70$
