Call of Duty 4 - Australian players lag or a slow - is this true

Hi, I am an Aussie COD4 player and I reckon that I am a second behind other multiplayers and especially those from USA. We have an internet speed that is the same if not faster than Americans, but the servers are over in the USA and I reckon it takes more time for my button presses to get registered on their servers and therefore they will always be able to get more shots in on me and move faster.

This is a query and just an observation, but I really really reckon that90% of the time I have to shoot at multiplayers heaps more times to get a kill (sometimes a whole clip) and these are upper body shots. When I die I watch the replay of them killing me and I swear on 1 billion dollars that they lay 4 bullets in me and I die straight away.

Also, I can can hear their game in the background on my mic/headphones thing, and it is about one second before I hear it on my screen. So I reckon they have it easy.

Does anyone else have this sussed out ? I reckon I am being ripped off. And I always here Aussies complaining about shotting some american 100 times and not getting a kill.

What does everyone reckon ? Are we being ripped ?

everything in australia is behind the US. why?

because there are only 22 million australians compared to 300million US. and the US think they rule the world and deserve better than any other nationalities.

I have found the same with ps2 online games. lag lag and more lag.

yeah its true and can be really frustrating, i found this when playing the beta too

the best thing you can do is get heaps of aussies on your friends list and try and get into games with them

e.g. i hated gears online because of lag at the start but then i started to get into all these australian games that were lag free soo much better so just try and get some mates to play n get sum aussie games thats about all you can do though sometimes if ur playing with americans who ALL have good connections then its ok.

that way i can play on aussie servers and not usa ones.

i tried playing against yanks today and quit half way through cos it was pissing me off again. i would go one on one against someone and get a good half a clip of AK in them then they hit me with one bullet in the foot and i died.

so, **** that, there is no point playing on usa servers. americans win again and we have to fight to find aussie server time. i don't know why you can't just choose to play only on aussie servers and why are we always so primitive when we are a 1st world country with a stable economy ?

too much govt spending on useless stuff and not enough on internet structure i reckon.
