[QUOTE="Zeliard9"]We can only hope that Hour of Victory has put the nail in the coffin for WW2-themed games for a while. I can't believe anyone would want yet another WW2 game, unless you just have a hard-on for that time period or something.RebornInFlames
I think I am still going to get Medal of Honor: Airborne. The open-ended levels are intriguing. After that, I'll be done with WW2. Hopefully some game developers will start being creative and have games set in WW3. They could make up a whole new history for it.
Yeah, I forgot about Airborne. At least that one has a unique and interesting gameplay mechanic (the ability to land anywhere on the battlefield), which gives it some replay value and a tactical edge. But really... developers need to come up with new ideas when it comes to shooters. Call of Duty moving on to modern warfare is not only the right thing for them to do, but it'll make for the greatest Call of Duty game yet. And not because of better graphics or whatever, but because putting it in a modern time period just gives them so much more freedom to do exactly what they want with the improvements and innovations in weapons, armor, vehicles, and just overall technology.
And this is also why unique shooters like The Darkness are such a breath of fresh air. And speaking of that game, maybe if the next WW2 game had The Darkness' version of WW2, it wouldn't be so bad. Haw.
