Call of Duty 4 guns get weaker as you level up...

I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this. When I first unlocked the G3 assault rifle, I could get a kill in like 2 or 3 shots at medium range. Now I'm lucky if it takes me 6 or 7. That goes for all the guns. It feels like they get weaker as you level the gun or your rank. I don't think it's always necessarily lag as I've noticed it every time I play. Maybe it's COD 4's way of balancing...

Probably lag or your enemies are using juggernautperk

I don't think so...I've yet to dip below the top 3 in free for all. The only think I can think of is that certain guns lose their power up close. This doesn't make any sense, butthe gamedoes say assault rifles are good medium to far range.

I almost always have stopping power on. It does help a lot. I can't imagine sniping without it. I've got to hand it to everyone who is a great sniper. I suck at sniping. Maybe I need high sensitivity. I have a hard time with the sub or light machine guns. Assault rifles are what I'm best with. Maybe I'll try shorter bursts and see if that helps. I know that the G3 is useless if you rapid fire. Thanks to everyone who offered advice.
