Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer Destroyed?

I got this game used yesterday (my favorite game of all time, dont game on my pc anymore so got it on xbox) and the multiplayer is BROKEN! Every lobby I've been in has been hacked (infinite ammo, people under the map, ontop of the map, wallhacks, aimbots), and there is this annoying announcment in the top left of the screen that spams that area of the screen telling you to go to some website.

Are all the lobbys like this?

Why do you think people are complaining about it and are looking for a better fate in the new BF? You have just looked at the evidence yourself. Bad and sad way to go for COD though ... I still have faith in MW3 nevertheless ...

Yeah, that blows. I mean it was kinda fun spraying with an infite ammo lmg and getting 100+ kills in ground war but still..
atleast the campaign can't get hacked XD

So they arent even going to do anything about the hackers? I mean aside from the users who can report them but probably wont.00-Riddick-00

Yeah getting annoyed by all those hackers... Loved to play this game till this happened.

I really don't get it, I have NEVER had a problem with hackers.

I only encountered 2 guys using the javalin glithc in MW2 and that's it, and I have been playing online on my 360 since 2005.

I don't know if these problems are affecting americans only or what, but here in europe never had a problem.

If you think MW is bad, try WaW... that game has some of the most insane hacking I've ever seen.

Sad thing is, MW2 is ALREADY getting to the point where hacking/shenanigans is/are super evident. 6/10 games I play, there are at least one of the following things happening:

Super speed

Infinite Ammo, albeit this is rare now.

Increased health, like jugg x3.

Obvious Aim Mods

And then of course, there is ALWAYS someone abusing the Noobtube/OneManArmy combo. In fact, in most games I play, there are 2+ people doing it per team... That game is really 0 fun these days, unless I'm playing private matches with friends or playing in QS lobbies.

There was a short period where like every game had the infinite ammo glitch active. The javelin glitch was huge for a while too, and the emergency airdrop was a big issue for much too long. And now there's a whole load of crap going on.

I was playing MW last year while in Europe and came across no issues for like... a month or so of playing like 5 hours a day. So you may be right.

I think IW faught and lost battle with hackers in MW2 and COD4, it has gotten to the stage where if they banned every hacker, they would be banning 90% of their players, which is too much of a payload for a company under the whip of activision

And that is why I enjoy playing Black Ops..........

World at War is the same way, which is a shame because its my favorite CoD. You'd think Activision would do something about it but its not Blops or MW2 so its irrelevant :(.

I think there's also a limit on how much they can patch and what not. Like with MW2, they didn't have the technology to release patches that altered core things like perks and what not, which is why the whole One Many Army + Noobtube combo was never addressed (among other things fans complained about). It's probably more that Activision is really only concerned with the latest CoD at this point, but they may also have some constraints in terms of what they can fix up.

Black Ops doesn't suffer from any issues at all really... so he could just play that... It's not like going back to Halo 1 or 2 is even possible and most would probably prefer to play Reach over 3 anyway...

I meant issues with hacking and glitches being abused and what not. Hit detection and the host choices in that game do need to be fixed though.

If MW2 becomes like it as well... then it seems you will only be able to play the latest release every year (and CoD Classic, 2 and 3 and whatnot) but I would also like to play the other ones too... ah well :(.Ashley_wwe

Worse come to worse, there's always private matches with friends, hacker's can't hack those! :)

Be careful, while I love Reach and Halo 3 was the one that got me into Halo, you can't really say that Halo won't get the COD syndrome (Can I treat it like a sickness?), it's unlikely but not impossible.
