If you're asking which to buy there's a reccomendation thread. If you're asking which we prefer i'd say Halo 3 forge is a blast with friends. I still need to get back into Halo 3. TF2 has addicted me and no other multiplayer game can hold my attention.

well i would say halo becuase of halo wars but then again call of dute world of war i dont really care they are both good games to hard to decide but out of call of duty 4 or halo 3 i got tired of halo 3 but call of duty has cool campaign mode i already clocked both games.
i havent played cod 4 since thanksgiving (a cousin borrowed it and hasnt had the chance to return it since >_>) so my vote might be a little biased. i choose halo 3 since bungie actually cares about the community and improves the game with dlc and patches and an upcoming expansion while iw/treyarch make you buy a whole new game even though its just the last game with a few improvement which could have been made through dlc/patches. also they seem to be more open with the community on their website while the cod website is just one big ad for the latest cod game. and halo takes more skill/strategy to master while cod 4 has some spammable setups and allows for some cheap tactics. overall i like both, ive logged over 120 hours on cod and almost 1500 games of halo 3.
They're both equal, I've pretty much felt that way since playing both games. Halo 3 is the epitome of the sci-fi FPS, and Call of Duty 4 is the epitome of a realistic FPS. They both have amazing features, Halo has great multiplayer options and guest features, Call of Duty 4 has one of the best ranking systems an online game has ever had. Halo 3 does have some more variety in its weapons, maps, and vehicles, but Call of Duty has great gameplay features like sprinting, shooting through walls, and perks. I really think both Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 are the prime example of a perfect console shooter, they are both equal.
I personally never got into Call of duty (4 or WaW), but i played halo constantly for almost a year then everyone stopped playing and went on to Call of duty so i had to go along with the pack =( Would play Halo again but no one plays anymore
