Call of Duty 4 Overratted Or Underratted?

Why is it everything needs to be "overrated" or "underrated".

Why can't anything be "rated properly".

I think it's well worth it - online gaming never gets old - I play it every day just about.- wiith lots of different maps & many different modes - it rarely gets boring.

Campaign/single player is fun too

It's got just the right amount of hype. It's really isa great game. So great in fact that I own it for both 360 and PS3, cuz some of my friends don't have 360. Yeah, if you're game library doesn't contain CoD:4 you're not a gamer.W3dotCOM

In your opinion. I personally prefer slower, more tactical shooters.

Overrated. Too many people make it out to be this god send. Its as overrated as Halo 3.

The multiplayer has its flaws

Its not as Deep as its made out to be

The campaign is good but short, and the story sucks.

I think it deserves a 9.5 for me atleast, its definantly AAA

but its not the clear best game on the 360.

Halo 3 offers more variety, tougher competition in my opinion, offers the intangibles such as Forge and Theatre

Orange Box is the superiorer Package, Portal is more innovative, Half Life 2 offers a way better story, team fortress 2 is fun as heck(when people are online)

Bioshoc better story, single player, visuals, and atmosphere

GTA 4 is overall a superior game. I think COD 4 is definantly tied for runner up with Halo 3, Orange Box and Bioshock for Best 360 game. But it isn't the god send some people make it out to be. jg4xchamp

I tend to agree, but not fully. COD4 is a great game, and it is one of the best shooters available right now, but it has some definite flaws. I actually just wrote a review about it today, so you can go there for specifics. I think the campaign was good, but it could have been much better simply by creating more cut scenes between levels. The level design is very good, though. Multiplayer is fun, but I've already lost interest after only two weeks.

Halo 3 does offer some great innovations with the Forge and Theater, but the game play is so different that it comes down to personal preferance as to which has better multiplayer.

And Portal was completely awesome. I had just started wondering when someone would make a game like that a couple weeks before it was announced. Unfortunately, I was not so caught up in the Half-Life story or Team Fortress 2.

Haven't played Bioshock, and I probably won't.

the best thing about cod4 is it's both a run and gun and tactical shooter, all in one. If I want a halo style match, I'll grab an RPD and run around. If I want a tactical match, I'll grab a sniper and sit tight. It's not underrated, but it certainly ain't overrated either.mohfrontline

COD is a lot of things: a great shooter, a beautiful game, and a highly acclaimed MP title. But it is not a tactical shooter. If you want tactics and strategy buy RB6 or GRAW 2. If you want a fast paced, nice looking shooter that's easy to pick up and play and doesn't require a lot of thought or teamwork, go for COD. Totally up to personal preference, but please don't call this game tactical unless you are talking about something specific like Hardcore S&D.

I think it is a great game but is slightly over rated. It is a lot of fun online but, in a few months, COD5 will be out and no one will be playing it anymore. The single player is short and it will be outdated. Halo 3 has staying power though. It will stick around for a while because they don't release a new one every year and it is different then anything else out there. I would rank it in the top 5 or 6 games on the 360 though. Orange Box and Halo 3 are definitely better packages.

agreed, but its true that alot of things arent rated properly. but there often is a good rating

First 2-3 months you play, it's underrated.

Every month you continue to play after that, it's overrated.

Its a good game and it deserves the review scores it recieved, but it is overrated as far as how the hardcore fans make it out to be. Its not the best game out there, but it is still a really great game.
