if i ranked them i'd give 'em both perfect 10s but for this topic i think CoD 4 is a better game.
the single player campaign is equal in both games. Call of Duty 4 is a bit shorter than most games but its just as good. the multiplayer is "hands down" better in CoD 4 though. i love the customization in Halo 3 but it still doesnt compare to how amazingly well Xbox Live and Call of Duty 4 go together... so yea CoD 4 wins even though i love both games.

Okay, can people never say stuff like that again though? "They both have their good and bad qualities." OF COURSE THEY DO. Hour of Victory had its good and bad qualities too. Granted, the only good quality was how well the disc works as a drink coaster, but it still had one. Does that mean that I can't compare it to CoD4? You're supposed to look at the good and the bad and strike a decision, so DO SO.

What he said... I actually find Halo 3 more fun, BUT I admit that CoD4 is more innovative. I get tired of CoD4 after 2-3 hours. I can easily play Halo 3 all day.
They are both great games. That being said in my personal opinion I still like Halo 3 better. The fun I had with Halo 3 4-player co-op alone is greater than all of COD 4. But again that's just me.

I also think COD4 is better done in therms of the game and achievments and stuff. The interface, or lobby or whatever you want to call it is by far better in Halo 3. COD4 gives you more incentives to make you keep playing soyou can get new stuff. But at the end of the day I have more fun with Halo 3. Maybe because you can find weapons all over the place, sticky bombs, and you can actually counter atack when somebody shoots you. Ifsomebody shoots you inCOD4, there is like a 95% that you are going to die, so you play hiding in buildings and behind walls. In halo you can afford to run in the middle of the action and still get away alive wich gives you more adrenaline and fun, I think.
