I think Treyarch will give COD a break after black ops, Activision has 4 other studios working on COD so i think Treyarch's next game will either be something different or a full zombie game. I don't think people realize Treyarch has done more than COD, they did Ultimate Spider-man, Spider-man 1,2, and 3, and the Tony Hawk games just to name a few.
Well, with the way black ops ended, I'm pretty sure they are going to continue on from there...kinda like they did with reznov, very loosely anyway...but after that I'm pretty sure it's going to be a break for a bit...then IW will come back with the next COD game with a new engine.

Think about what you just said...
heres what my crystal ball says.
sooner or later (sooner hopefully) CoD tactics of rehash and greed will catch up with them. At some point the blind shall see and the lame will walk. And their fan base will move on to something better. The babes will stop drinking milk and desire meat and the movement cult known as CoD will be merely a forethought. Then, maybe something will move in the hungry bellys of the once overweight Bosses of AV. Whose cups were once full and are now empty, will be driven into the wilderness for 4 years and live like savages until all greed and lazyness is purged from their dirty hearts and minds. Then and only then, will they rediscover thier roots and embark on a mission to save the lost honor of the house of CoD.
a year off to develop a new engine would be my choice.
I would love to see a return to WW2, or, dare I say a WW1 game?

Madden has done well, but I hope you are right. CoD and other games that see no innovation but plenty of iterations is bad for gaming.
It will be called
Call of Duty Operation Cyrulan.
The whole plot of the game is that after BO Ended, Mason,Hudson, and Weaver went to a remote place in South Africa with vital C.I.A Information. Some General forms a Recon squad led by Brooks. You play as a young Captain Price and your mission is to kill all Mason, Hudson, and Weaver for knowing to much and possibly giving info to the enemy.
I hope it's a WW2-based game. WaW is still my favorite CoD, just because I like the feel of the guns from that time period. The simplicity is also nice... no Heartbeat sensors, motion sensors, etc... just gun-on-gun action for the most part. MW3 is supposed to go back to the MW/WaW-esque CoD gameplay with faster action and maps that encourage rushing more than those in MW2 and Black ops, so hopefully the game after MW3 will look to do the same...

I might actually get back into CoD if they actually did that. I don't see it happening though. They're gonna milk what they have now for all it's worth.
Blops 2, then CoD MW4 the next year. Calling it right now, there will be another (incredibly stupid) cliffhanger ending.
