well we know virtually nothing about it so how you can be sure its gonna be set in the cold war? based on trailer its incredibly confusing to understand whats going on
The new call of duty black ops sounds stupid, there were very few battles in the cold warmichael-118
I'm sorry that the Vietnam and Korean Conflicts aren't interesting enough for you.
just to hit you off with a little history, more US soldiers died during the Korea conflict then in the vietnam war. it just doesnt get mentioned too much in history, and there were alot of "secret" battles and infiltrations going on. im kind of excited about it
That's called a teaser trailer. IW did not invent it.After watching this debut trailer..I realized one thing..they basicly did the same thing with this that IW did with the teaser for MW2. Took a screen you couldnt really figure out and suddenly alot of images flashed before you. Did anyone else notice this.

That's called a teaser trailer. IW did not invent it. He isnt talking about teaser trailers in "general." He's trying to say that they're leaving us with next to nothing concrete evidence that this game may be based on the Cold War. Who knows.. it could be set somewhere else. Perhaps more comtemporary than we might think. The new call of duty black ops sounds stupid, there were very few battles in the cold warmichael-118
The Cold War was a war of threats that resulted in various "hot wars" or conflicts, whatever you wish to call the wars/conflicts during the Cold War there were many, and the Cold War had lots of battles. Vietnam, Korea, Ahganistan, there were a lot of terrorist cells that formed during the Cold War too, I think Alquida or however you spell it, became known all over the world during the Cold War. The war we are in right now is a biproduct of the aftermath of the Cold War, so how could you possibly say the Cold War had too few battles.

You mean the weapons the US gave Al qaida to fight Russia in the 90's?
Infinity Ward and Treyarch are running quickly out of US wars to make video games out of. I think the next game after Black Ops will be CoD: Playground Wars.

They've only ever done one historicle war and one ficitional, how are they running out of them?Because they won't do WW1, Korea, or Vietnam. WW1 and Korea, frankly, were pretty boring, and Vietnam is too controversial. That pretty much leaves the Civil War (which they won't do) and (gasp) another WW2 game!

Too controversial? Did you forget that the last Call of Duty had a scene where you join up with a bunch of russians and shoot innocent civilians in an airport? Please Log In to post.
