can anyone suggest why my xbox wired headset isnt working

ive plugged in to the controller and my parental controls are set to allow everyone also i can hear people but i dont know how to speak to them im on the channel aswell so anyone help me please any suggetions :(

just so i can check properly what do you press to start talking on xbox live on call of duty 4spiller3000

u dont have to press nething but in the lobby look next to ur name, there should b a speaker then next to ur name on the left. it blinks if u talkin, n also is the sound up on the headset?

yh that does show up so are u saying i dont need to press anything i should just need to talk in to the mic coz i have tried that and it does nothing

nope, u shouldnt have to do nething but just talk, u might have a bad mic so u can just exchange it prolly at the store u got it at
