I was thinking about using my smartphone to download Xbox series S games from game pass. My broadband connection has a 300gig data cap, but my smartphone wireless plan has no data limit. Is there anyway to do this? Also, can I connect an external ssd to my smartphone to download xbox series s games from game pass and then transfer the game from the external ssd to the Xbox series s?

No, Xbox games can only be downloaded directly to an Xbox console.

If your phone data plan doesn't have any associated caps when using tethering, you could enable this. Connect your Xbox to your phone and use its internet to download games to your console.
