Halo 3? I'm wondering if its really worth to get. I would like to know if I should get it even though I never actually played through the story of the first two games. I've played them though just on multiplayer. Is this the best shooter for now or should I get Call of Duty 4? Of all the shooters on the 360 so far, these are the two that have interested me the most.

ok if you have live and you are not halo fan get cod4 , in my opinion gears of war is the best shooter on 360 , if you dont have that one go get it before any shooter.

I regret buying halo3. I was never a fan of the series, althought i own them all, but i figured the 3rd one, with all its hype, had to be good. Well, it is a lot like halo2, which is good if you like halo2 but bad if you don't. So, seriously, just ask yourself if you want some more halo2 with better graphics and new maps? if the answer is "yes," pick it up and enjoy. Otherwise, i was reframe from purchasing it. Now, in regards to CoD4, if you liked the previous Call of duties, graw, or even rainbow6, you will probably enjoy cod4. I really think its a great game.

I have to admit that I kind of fell into the hype that this game received and thought it was the greatest thing. It's a good game, but I just got bored with it after awhile because for me, it felt like more of the same. However, I did enjoy the single player; it ties everything up nicely. Anyways, here is what I feel are the Pros and Cons for Halo 3:

Pro

Fun single player that is well complimented with the use of Co-op
Run and gun type of multiplayer (if that's your thing), that can be addicting
Good variety of weapons, vehicles and enemies. Each with it's own strengths and weaknesses
Lots of customizable options like Forge, help add longevity
Theatre mode is a great addition and you can have a lot of fun with that

Con

Single player will probably only take you 5-7 hours to beat
Multiplayer is not forgiving to newcomers
Some really uninspired maps

It's good that you're a newcomer to the Halo franchise, and have decided to start with Halo 3 because then there is nothing to be disappointed about. With that said, I would recommend this game if you like FPSs and a "run and gun" type of multiplayer.

Halo 3 is a rent. It's a fun game for like 2 weeks but after that it's just boring. Trust me, you'll feel the same way after playing it for about 2 weeks. Get CoD4, you'll be glad you did.

Well said. I bought Halo 3 and a few weeks later I took it back and picked up CoD4 and have never been happier! I traded Halo 3 in for AC which sounds like it will rock hard!
