What about Diablo 3 they should make it on the 360 too, with crazy online but it can be sort off limited in the controls.

It would handle Wow. Gameplay would suffer though, as console mmo's tend to do. It would handle EVE Online too probably.

MMORPGs belong on the PC for 3 reasons: 1 Expansions and extra content will often be released for free orfor cheapinstead of being overpriced on the M$ Marketplace. This includes the subscription price to even access the persistent worlds. Think about it, pay for your internet, then Gold Subscription, then game subscription or just internet and game subscription? 2 The keyboard with full QWERTY and hotkeys, console commands; the ease of mouse clicking - not only does this work better for FPSs but also for very complex games like MMORPGs. 3 The simple fact that unless it's Halo Worlds or something it will never have the following on the 360 that it needs to really grow.

PS What ever happened to that Matrix MMORPG? Did it go anywhere?

True, but I figure I already play the $50 to play other games online like Halo 3 and COD4 so that expense is already paid IMO. I have a laptop that doens't run much anymore and I have no disposible income for a new computer while in school so an MMO on the 360 would be my only option really.

I know but aren't most 360 games get ported to the PC later on I think they should do the same & vice versa.

Why would you say that? Diablo 1 worked well on the PS1. If a game is a good game it will still be good no matter what platform it's on. They could have 4-6 players in 1 room for the xboxlive which should be fun enough even for you.

I agree that D3 could work on a console. A standard MMO would be tough to develop for though, simply for the lack of a keyboard.

One of the biggest problems an MMO would have on 360 is keeping people playing. Console gamers have a much higher tendency to just wander off and play a newly released game. You only have to look at the state of online in many games released over 12 months ago to realise there aren't many people left playing them. There is also another hurdle - the effective double charging to play online - you pay for Gold to play games online on 360, but have a separate charge to play an MMO (you can play an MMO without the Gold subscription, but most will have Gold as well). MMOs have a critical mass - they need a large number of people playing to keep the rest playing - if they don't start with many, those who do pay will get bored and leave, and others won't want to join. This is partly why WOW has become so popular - so many people are playing it, while other MMOs die out from their relative lack of popularity

The Old Republic will only be a PC game. I'd like to see a KOTOR 3 as well, but with this MMORPG coming out and Bioware working on Mass Effect 2, there probably won't be a KOTOR 3. At least very unlikely.

That is summed up perfectly. I think the xbox 360 has a lot of hurdles to jump before a successful MMO comes to the console. The online popularity has to be there and it has to keep gamers interested. As Avenger1324 said, console gamers usually wonder from game to game. Also, for me personally, a monthly fee along with xbox live gold account doesn't sit too well for me. If I am forced to pay for internet, xbox live, the game, and a monthly fee then this game should be ATLEAST on caliber with the likes of Diablo or WoW. Monthly fees on PC MMO games are tolerable. I have a problem with monthly fees on XBox 360 though.

Xbox live subscription is around 50-70$ for 13 months. Thats hardly going to break you. Thats more than Broadband and just a subscription through a PC but atleast you dont have to buy no 2k$ gaming rig. I thought consoles have keyboard support?? And as far as people talking about needing to have a large subscription base for two reason both are false. MMO's can make money off a scary low amount of people like 15-20k or less. And a console doesnt have to hold its own large subscription pool either. The console and pc subscriptions both count the same so it doesnt matter which method they are using to play.

Yes you play slightly more, yes you probably have less control. But the biggest thing that would worry me is ALOT of MMORPG's tend to have no problem screwing over their customers and creating new higher rez graphic engines. Some games let you continue to play with the older graphics(but some new content may be unavailable to you) and other just make older computers obsolete and you either upgrade your PC or die and if your on a console thats not even an option. So i would be extremely scared to death of being phasered(phased out). MMORPG's should commit to a system req. If they want to make things higher rez and more complex it should be made into a whole new game and split them up and continue to support both.

I feeld like I only paid 300-400$ for my 360 and PC guys paid 1200-2000$ for their PC's. So what if i have to pay slightly more to play online?

Anyways I am placing all my hopes and dreams into getting Champions Online for the 360. I havent had the chance to play an mmorpg in a long time and miss it to death.

Oh I saw one more stupid comment up above. Some guy said having mmorpg on a console is stupid because console gamers would get distracted by new release console games LMAO!!! Are you freaking mental dude. Are you saying nobody with a PC has consoles either or buys pc versions of console games?? LMAO!!! I play BOTH!!!

I would love to see either Champions Online or Star trek MMOs do well but... I also agree about the extra cost. Why the frak should I pay extra money (approx $15) a month on top of a Gold membership. Now if the MMO costs less than $15, let's say between $5 and $7, as a reduced rate across the board. Irregardless if you are on a PC, 360, or PS3 then I would definitely consider it. People are being more cautious over what they spend their money on and if it was less than what you would normally pay then, Yes, you may get the volume of gamers needed to make it successful.

Bottom line. MMO YO! $15/month NO!

naw its actually being considered right now, if it can have a mode where you dont have to be connected to xbox live to play, i might get it. heres my "proof" lol. i still dont think i'd get it though unless it can be played without online like i said.....
