My brother is constantly bugging me about getting the Arcade now cuz it's cheaper (what he leaves out is you cant go online or install a removeable hard drive, the little numb-nuts) So the question is can you in fact make it live compatible, put a hard drive in and overall make it at least as good as the premium.

You can put a HDD on it. It's very easy and fast to put one on. I had an arcade and then bought a 20 GB HDD for it.

of course you can make it live compatible. go buy a cheap 20gb HDD after buying the arcade. Get xbox live gold. connect it to the internet via wifi(wireless network adapter required) or ethernet cable.

All 360s, regardless of whether they are an Arcade, Premium or Elite, are exactly the same on the inside. They all have exactly the same software, hardware and upgradability. The only differences between all the packages are the upgrades (hard drive, etc) that come with them in the box.

If you take an Arcade and add a 60 GB HDD, you have a Premium. If you take either an Arcade or a Premium and add a 120 GB HDD, you basically have an Elite (albeit a white one).

Dont forget the arcade doesnt come with the headset for live, an eithernet cable and also does not come with HD cables. (along with not coming with a hard drive)
