What do you mean can you? All console FPS are default with aim assists, and only a few give you the option to turn it off in single player. In multiplayer it's standard, because if you turned it off it would put you at such a huge disadvantage, you probably wouldn't even be able to get a kill.

I think it would be possible to do well without aim assist. I've seen people play CoD4 on PC with controllers, which doesn't have aim assist at all, against people with KB/M. I think that since going against people who do have aim assist on would put you at a huge disadvantage, they just leave out the option since nobody would use it (except all the try hards).

I would, however, like to see an FPS on consoles without aim assist at all, just because it's one of the reasons why a lot of people don't take competitive gaming on consoles seriously.

You probably are thinking of something else, aim assist is always active in practically all console FPS, even games without gun sights. Some games (MW2 for example) give you the option to turn it off (in campaign only), but I've never heard of a console shooter that completely does away with it.

i can guarantee you, it does. Just because its not a homing beacon that doesnt lock onto the players head doesnt mean its not there. Play perfect dark zero and then play CoD/Halo and tell me if you notice anything. And even if you could up the degrees of aim assist i doubt any game would allow you to use anything but the default online, allowing people to turn it up higher is way too noob friendly

Didn't know that. But I really haven't heard much about that game. Nobody I know personally ever played it (neither have I), and online, the opinions on the game range from mediocre to decent at best. I would buy it, but I'm guessing the online community is completely dead by now.

P.S.: Is it any more difficult to play without aim assist? What about online?

it only works for the campaign in MW2, what it does is lock on your target without having to move your right stick much at all, but in multiplayer it turns it off cus thats cheating having auto aim

Yes you can use it online. FAMASWarrior

im pretty sure you can NOT, if u can then where do u go to change it, cus i know it only works for offline, online it has no auto aim assist, the aiming doesnt automatically gravitate to your opponent

I don't think it works online. Than it'd be cheating. I don't notice aim assist whenever I play. And even if it did, it wouldn't be as fun.

yeh the sticky aim in that game is more noticeable than any other game ive played. two people come out of the door way i aim at the guy thats turning in my direction first logically but my scope literally gets stuck on the first guy, and for those few milliseconds of trying to aim at the guy thats looking at my i end up with no kill and shoot between em...or it could be that my bullets disappear or never fire once again...that is just one instance theres many more.

I actually turn it off in every game I play (I think I can hit my mark without the computer babysitting me). No idea about online but i wish I could turn off sticky aiming (when your reticule 'sticks' to an opponent), it's so annoying.

I don't notice it enabled with my ACOGed SCAR. The cursor on the ACOG doesn't gravitate automatically to the nearest target from what I've seen.
