Can you hook the 360 up to a PC and play it through the monitor?

The reason I'm wondering is because we're planning on buying a new TV or monitor for my 360. Thing is, straight up monitors are like half the price as TV/monitors, so I'm wondering if you can hook your console up to the computer through USB or something and then have it play on your computer monitor without having to directly hook the monitor to your 360.
