I just bought another black wireless controller that was bundled with the play & charge kit.  I read the manual and it didn't say anything about it  recharge AA batteries only the charge kit.  Maybe I just need to read it again.  But do you know if you can or can't recharge AA batteries?

No you cannot.  The Play and Charge Kit only works with the rechargable battery that comes with it or an additional rechargable battery packs that you buy.

Yeah what he said. I think if you tried recharging regular AA batteries you might cause them to explode or leak battery acid or something. What Im trying to say is, you'll probally damge you controller.
