I went to eb games today and picked up a copy of orange box for 360. It has French writing for the main title and english subs under. I asked the sales associate if this is an english copy and he said yea. He said valve made the Candian orange boxes with french titles but the game has no french voice overs. Why would they do this.

Because in Canada companies are required to apply both English and French labeling to all products.

Most the time they just put a french slip cover on it, like just a paper thing that you can put in your case if you want to. I have no idea why they would do that though, sounds kinda dumb to me

I noticed that too, yes... I think they figured that everyone up here in Canada speaks French, or something ... Américains bêtes!

Yeah I've got a big stack of French manuals on my bookshelf. I'll never use them but I hate to throw them away. They are still crist and shiny.

I'm in Canada and ya the Orange box title on the front of the cover has the french writing bigger then the english. I also questioned an employee...he didnt know why. Usually in cases like this the English is in bigger writing then the french.

It was a mistake, games are usually NEVER like that. It was a mistake on the cover/packaging.

I have a feeling they may have inadvertently printed all the packaging using the Quebec layout. In Quebec they don't even HAVE to put English on anything, but if they do it has to be either equal to or smaller than the French. Don't blame Americans lol. Usually the games are made and packaged here or else the foreign plant has specific guidelines to follow for each country's packaging governed by the country's laws. I've worked in two production plants, one automotive and one confectionery. Both plants shipped internationally and we had to watch the labelling and packaging depending on where the current shipment was to be going.

I just got home from picking up my copy today and I was like what the fudge, they gave me the French version!!! It's like what you guys say, it's always the English title that is prominent and the French titles are always in small letters. That's the way it should be unless we live in Quebec or something.
