Well, looks like we get cut out of the main deal, boys. Microsoft is making canadians pay MORE for DLC - so not only is affording DLC a problem, we have to pay MORE to get it. I'm actually shocked. Over here in Canada, instead of paying $20 for 1600 MS points, we only get 1400 for 20. AND we have 50% less content to download than those in America. In America, you can download TONS of freebies. In Canada, barely anything is free to us. All the free content isn't available to us in Canada. I personally think it's pretty awful - first we pay $60 to get GOLD then we don't even get the content we're paying to buy.

Well remember the Canadian dollar went way down.

I'm feeling the pain as well, at least games aren't 69.99 again (some are 64.99 though)

This reminds me of a Nintendo thing. Nintendo of Japan had an online service where you could get free stuff like keychains, and cases and stuff like that for free. If you bought a game for a Nintendo system, you got a code. The code could be exchanged for the said free stuff. But the rest of the world just got wallpapers and cursors, and crap like that. I'm buying a 360 on Boxing Day. This is an unfortunate set of circumstances. I live in Niagara Falls, and I was gonna get Rock Band, a very DLC heavy game...

I can think of 2 reasons why: 1) translation requirements in Canada require that everything must be translated into French as well as English to be sold. This means expensive regionalization, even if few francophones buy it. 2) Supplying servers to the much less population dense Canadian north is likely quite expensive. Just look at the relatively few people in the Atlantic provinces and northern Canada.

I wasn't even aware DLC cost money. I don't have live. So, your telling me, you buy a half assed $40-$60 game, then you must pay additional fees for stuff to make said crappy game better? Stuff that should have been on the disk in the first plac, before it was on the shelves.

What a rip off. And you Canadians get free health care and stuff, so quit whining. Be thankful M$ even bothered to market the 360 and LIVE in Canada.

For your first reasons, yes we support french language here, but don't you have the same issue with Spanish language in the States? As for the smaller population...um, shut up! :0 lol

Well, here in the UAE, a year of XBL Gold Membership costs (at the current exchange rate) nearly $100. And that PGR4 bundle isn't even out there, so it's just the 12+1 month prepaid card. And games cost at least (the equivalent of) USD 90 to begin with, and here in the capital city, Abu Dhabi, the gaming stores NEVER have sales... Until a game becomes a Platinum Hit, which takes a couple of months more to reach here. In Dubai it's a lot better, but games are still priced pretty high to begin with.

Well, that's not what happens in all games. Sure, GoW2 and the Combustible Map Pack (and the Flashback Map Pack, the code of which wasn't on the boxes here in the UAE :( )... but developers can pull DLC off pretty well; look at Bungie, Critereon, Bethesda...

In europe we are paying , instead of 60 dollars, 60 euros for a game which is $84.034 with today's exchange rate.

We are paying instead of 60 dollars. 60 euros for a LIVE generally which is also $84

I paid 220 euros for the system a few weeks ago which is 308.124 dollars ( The premium one )

Any place outside the USA is being hammered with the prices.

Hopefully once the dollar becomes stronger again, they will make less profit due to the favorable exchange rate. But that doesnt benefit me. I just want to make them make less profit out of spite.

And as for games availability. I never failed to find a game I wanted but who knows.

Canadians are actually getting a deal on MS points. A US dollar is worth 21% more than a CND Dollar, so you're actually paying less dollar for dollar since you're only paying 20% more CND.

I doubt M$ would make something cheaper outside the US

I live in Dominican Republic, prices are a lot harder here, and Xbox 360 pro cost as much as $20,000 this is like US$550, any game cost about US$100, i havent even seen a Gold live card in here.

So what i do is order everything from amazon, my xbox pro cost me about US$450 withall the shippings and chargers, plus i get a $60 bonus from amazon, my gold card cost me just $45 for 13 months card, $20 for the orange box game, and$40 for GTA 4.

So your best bet living in canada is to order online, you'll get a lot better price.

According to your logic we shoulda been paying less than US about 6 months ago when the CND dollar was higher than the US dollar right? Yeah that didn't happen...

Well, games in Europe don't get banned for being set in fictional European countries... (*cough* CoD 4...) We get the European versions of games here (besides Gears 2- that's why we didn't get the Flashback Map Pack), by the way.

Are you from Canada ? Are you telling me they banned a game for it being set in a fictional european country ? If they banned a game in holland it would be seen as a severe violation of free speech and people would go into mass hysteria. Banning any medium based on it's content, be it hateful, racist or anything is seen as a violation of free speech laws. By our laws information is never evil, people are responsible for their own actions.

"Proud to be an American were at least i know I'm free and I wont foget the men who died who gave that right to me and I proudly stand up next to you and defend her still today..." How could you hate that song? And to the OP quick question for you are you saying $20 Canadian dollars or $20 United states dollars because as you know everything cost more in Canadian then United States dollars but not really because it's based on currency exchange rates.

I'm canadian and i find it bs that we don't even get a south park gamer pic and usa does. Come on we have the lack of dcl. We can't use netflix. The selction of movies and tv is so dumb. If your going to make xbox live worldwide atleast make it fair to everybody. This is why microsoft doesn't act fair to their customers.

First of all, medical is NOT FREE in Canada. Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about.

Secondly, your comment of Canada being lucky Microsoft even "bothered" with us...wow...just wow. Your username seems to be reflective of your knowledge of world economy.

nope if i was trying start a fight it be whole lot worse then that. i'am just saying a simple fact thats really easy to know why no other place dont have netflix. i can careless every one can set here and blame people who's not to blame for that stuff

~go write to netflix and tell them bring it to canada then most likly microsoft bring it to the xbox

~write to all goverments/kings/congress// lords and what ever else and tell them make all money the same value
