I have a few friends on my friends list that I cannot get into private chat with. I also cant connect to their games if they invite me or if I join their session. It only happens with a handful of my friends and I wanna know what the hell is going on. Can anyone help me or give an actual solution to this annoying problem???

my friend and i had the same problem.  its your router that is causing this issue, atleast it was for us.  the NAT settings specifically.  you can rememdy it yourself by going online and just doing a little research.

Yup, that's your problem Prodigy117. Your Router's NAT setting is undoubtidly set to 'Strict' instead of 'Open'. This makes several games almost impossible to connect to (if you owned Call of Duty 3, you would only be able to connect to servers with 1 person in it), and several of your friends unable to have a private chat with. You can double check this by going into the 'System' blade on your 360, then select Network Settings and then Test Xbox Live Connection. The NAT is the last thing it will check for, and it will probobly say 'Strict'.

This same thing actually happened to me. Try unhooking everything from your router or modem wait a bit and plug everything back in again. Its really frustrating.

oh yea guys its you NAT. your router is blocking the 360 from fully connecting to Xbox Live. you need to open up the ports. which i will tell you :) get ready for my steps

go HERE

thne select you router from the big list.
then go down to 'X' and find "Xbox Live 360"

it willt ell you wat to do.  NOTE: skip the part where you need to make a static IP

you need to open up ports 88 UDP/TCP and 3074 UDP/TCP

when you got that done do the xbox live netowrk test things on ur xbox.
